Wow are 09 Mustang GT's slow

Wow are 09 Mustang GT's slow Well coming home the g/f and I were going through downtown in her Mach 1 and I see a 05-09 GT in front of me. As we both leave the light I hear it has exhaust and I see the back bumper so I know its a California Special. They just so happen to be going to way we were. 
Well I cruise by them in 5th gear and its two white guys (probably 17-19) listening to some rap real loud with their white flat bill hats on. Oh how sweet life is I thought. Right next to them I blip the throttle and downshift into 4th. I hear them turn the music off. I guess to hear the exhaust on the 4v. I can see the optional HID lights so I knew it was a 2009 model. Mommy and Daddy must love someone! As we are going a county cop pulls out in front of us. 
But then the cop pulls into a parking lot to setup for radar. 
Shoulda set it up about 2 miles ahead buddy. So as we go by the cop the light ahead turns yellow. So I get next to him. Still no music playing lol but I see right in front of me a huge pot hole 
. Not wanting to rip the axle housing out from under her car I just leave easy as the two guys take off. I follow behind them not willing to let that be it. The next redlight catches us as they are turning left. We both turn and I get along side him in 2nd and I give it alittle gas. I couldn't tell if they were racing yet so I short shift into 3rd at 5,000rpms to see him hit 3rd gear hard. 
Oh we are racing! So I floor 3rd gear at 4,000rpms and by the end of it I had 2 carlengths on them. I hit the brakes because this was an unsafe road to go 100+ on. They cruise by and I follow going home. I went by them in 5th gear and they wouldn't look over or keep up with me. I just rolled down the window half way and gave the roof a little tap. Hopefully they know now about Mach 1s.

good kill...the 09's are supposed to be faster but still haven't caught the new edge machs performance wise and I'm sure the extra weight and flat white bill hats didn't help either...lol

lol. Its cool. I could care less about the Ford vs Chevy thing. My wife had an 01' z28 (A4) about 2 yrs ago until she sold it to a member on here (due to our son being born). I respect anything that people put time/sweat into to make fast.

Good kill man. The Stang from 2005 to 2009 looked great but they are too fat to fly with the powertrain they have. The 2010 rear end looks like ***, way to screw that up Ford. I can't wait to see what the new 5.0 does for the car though. I am not a Ford guy but they have done pretty well lately, even if the horsepower numbers are on the weak side.
