Default GTA vs 350z

I was headed to school today as usual, headed over a decent sized bridge, I merged in to the main traffic, and saw a blue 350z in the other lane. It was a guy, looked to be about 40ish, didnt look over at me or anthing, so i figured he thought I wasnt worth his time, or he just didnt want to race. We get to the bottom of the bridge and both end up at a stop light side-by-side. I look over....still nothing

so I pull out in first, dont hear him get on it, shift into second, and he nails it......so I had to play some catch up, he had about 2 cars on me when i hit it, I short shifted into 3rd (5800) and still passed him, 3rd gear I took to 6200 and just left him, Id say around 5 cars.

I slowed down, continued my journey to school, he followed me? Im guessing he is a student to, or a teacher? lol either way, Had fun, I had never run a 350z before, cant say I was real impressed, but its better than alot of the junk out there.

I wish I had video, but its to hard to video tape and drive. Im going to look around school and see if I cant find him and ask him if he has anything done to his car.

Sorry if its not the most exciting race, they just dont happen very often around here.

short story:
350z didnt look like he wanted any
ended up getting stopped at a light together
he gunned it when i was in second
played catch up and took him by about 5 cars
turned out to be going the same place I was.

My car is an 88 GTA with an ls1, t56, full bolt ons (ls6 Intke, headers, !cats!, UD pulley, ported tb, loudmouth, K&N) Ford 9" with 4.11's.

Good kill man. And I hear ya on the not much action. I got the same problem where I'm at. Seemed like before I had a car there were hot rods and ricers everywhere, now that I've got a car, they've all disappeared. I tried my best to get one of those new 370z's to play the other day but the guy didn't want none.

Good kill! The 350Z's aren't bad, but they don't have anything for a bolt-on LS1, especially in a lighter 3rd gen. Looks like you have a nice car, man! I've always loved the GTA's and hope to restore one at some point in the future.

I live about 40 min west of olympia.

Yea, if you love the look of the third gens, lsx swap is the only way to go.

I'm down for some runs man. I am in Spanaway. We can meet somewhere, hopefully somewhere without cops. I want to see how that third gen of yours runs. Friendly runs for no money. Your call. Mine is a fourth gen with a LS6 swap, its a vert so its pretty damn heavy. Sounds like fun to me.

Im just getting ready to throw a cam in also. Ive been putting it off until I got my ls7 clutch in, which I got in a week ago.

I've spent a lot of time at the track but not in this car. Its a vert so they require me to have a cage at 13.49, the car is faster than that. They won't let me run it to its potential because when they raise the hood they see headers so now its modded. If it ran 11's stock they would let me run it but since its modded they want me to follow the rules and have a cage. Stupid but thats how it is. The LS7 clutch is a nice piece, I have one as well. You'll like it. Let me know when you want to run and we'll meet up. Daytime is best for me. We'll figure that out.

Let me know man. You bring the camera or do I? We have to get a vid or these assclowns will bitch. LOL! If you get the cam done you should get me, other than that I think it will be a good run. Your lighter but have less power mine is a pig but I have the HP advantage. Can't wait to see how it goes. You on street tires or DR's? I'm a street tires. It doesn't matter except to tell me how careful I have to be on the launch.

I will get my third gen there someday. Hopefully I just found a good big block to go into it. Waiting on a response. I'm excited but we'll see how it turns out.

I could bring DR's my street tires are only toyo proxy 4's 16/245's. and I have a camera I could bring. My car weighs about 3200, so its light-ish, are you just a bolt on ls6?

I'm on Proxy's as well. Mine is a bolt on car but its a LS6 crate engine instead of the LS1. It probably weighs close to 4000 lbs. If you want to run a DR thats cool. Its just for fun anyway. If I lose I lose.
