Hugger,
Good kill and I thought it was funny about the nitrous bottle. I can't believe I actually read all the pages of this thread. The only thing I question in the GTO vs. Cobalt debate is that you need two cutouts for a 04 not a single 3". Both are great cars for what they are and you gotta thank GM that the debate is even possible.

Thanks, it was GM's sub-compact back then. Kinda the predecessor to the Cobalt.

I didn't weigh it after the swap but it should be about 2750-2800 with me in it.

Someone doesn't know how to drive his GT it seems. Most GT owners I know STOCK can pull a 14.0 at least.

I've beaten a few SS Cobalts on the street. None of those fast 4 door ones though

Plus, what is the gearing? The cobalt gearing is setup from the factory for the turbo. If the mustang has a stockish gear thats gonna hurt. Don't come in here saying rear wheel what..he could have 3k in the wrong mods..gurantee you 3k in the correct mods would toast that Cobalt...its all relative
I know of people getting mid 13s with Mach1s.

lol @ this thread.

And nice kill Hugger! Definitely like hearing those Cobalt kill stories, lol. I had no idea they were that quick till a guy around here got one. I barely pulled him last time we ran, but I hear he's gotten better at driving the new setup, so I have a feeling I'm gonna get pulled next time we run, lol.

lol, I keep laughing at the random Evo guy jumping in the LS1 GTO vs Cobalt number race. How much more random can a thread get?

lol at the evo comment......

def takes some practice learning the no lift shift.
without it, its easily a 1/2 second slower in the quarter.
I know i would ran a high 13 if i got it to work on the 1-2 shift my last time out. FWD crap hops and it doesnt work, drops boost.....wait for boost again....then off she goes.
