Nitrous LS1's are a force to be reckoned with vs HC KB Cobra
I know this video is old, but holy **** its awesome. It must suck to have a ridiculous amount of money into that cobra and have its *** handed to it in a mid sized cam + spray basically stock LS1 lol.

I don't really care about what happened in the vid you posted, particularly since it's been
posted 50 times. People lose all the time. Everyone loses. People who say they don't are
liars...or they only race Hondas.
Just out of curiosity, what do you consider a "ridiculous amount of money?"
I'm thinking there is $10K in mods for the Cobra. I couldn't tell you what
the guy who owns the Cobra in the vid runs at the track, but I can
guarantee you that $10K in mods for a Cobra can easily get the car into
the bottom 10's and trap 135mph reliably. That's no easy task for any
car with only $10K in mods.

.......and? What's your point? I can buy a $65k Z06 and run bottom 11's @ mid 120's, ..so? How about a $125k For GT pulling 130mph traps ..so?
Hell I can guarantee you a Civic with $10k will pull 130+ mph traps, it's all realative.
I just can't help but chuckle at every instance where the name 'Cobra' is hinted and you come flying in from left feild with your pro-Cobra directives.... on an GM-based board no less lol

Well, fwiw, I don't recall anybody asking you specifically what YOU thought of the vid. It was a simple clear statement, that's all.

I've not seen that video before. Not a fan of all the music in there. Rather hear the racing going on.
In some ways I wish I still had my 6-speed in the car so I could see what my HP levels would do at highway speeds up to 200 or so. But then again I'd probably get busted.
Around here we have plenty of LT1 and LS1 cars running mid-high 9's on the spray. It's not that hard to do if you buy the right parts and make sure your fuel tuning is dead on and you can have consistant bottle pressures. I much prefer not having to refill bottles though.
As far as Camaro/Firebird versus Mustang well I guess it'll never end. I've had both and loved them both. Not a fan of the new Mustangs from a looks standpoint. But then again someone may look at my ride and say the same about mine. From a spending money standpoint I've seen a ricer put 12K into his paint and wasn't that worried about going fast. Another guy has a car that looks like *** but it runs high 8's with him doing all the work himself and did it for about 10K including the car. I guess he can make fun of me about my car if he wanted since I've spent some pretty good change on go fast goodies and changing my direction over the years.
In any case it does make me laugh to see these people spending huge money on store bought turnkey performance packages that don't add up to someone just tinkering on their own.

You're not even close with that guess...clearly it's a guess.
I think I have a pretty good grasp on what it costs to modify a Cobra...and a LS1.
I'll let that one slide. Next time, he's getting pimp slapped.
Are we really surprised that a LS1 loves nitrous? It's a big CID engine with a (relatively) high compression ratio.
This isn't anything we haven't known 13 years...as Stopsign pointed out already. I figured that out 10 years ago
when I ran several hundred bottles through my LS1.

I think he meant a stock bottom end ls1..The guy in the Cobra wasn't the best driver ,but hey nitrous dosen't give a damn hot cold high roll low roll .What ever that T/a spanked the Cobra ,and I'm a Ford guy Lol!

Havocs car def rides out and his newer setup is a lot faster if he still has it. That car loves nitrous as everybody explained already haha. I know that ddurans car rides the hell out for sure though. Im pretty sure that he put down mid 600's on pump. I dont think that havoc still races though does he?

like a tuner for example. The 2.8L "Mammoth" blower is $5,299, but that's
a different story. The Cobra in the vid had a (shitty) 2.4L blower. I
bought mine lightly used with a $500 throttle body, a $100 pulley and
interchangeable hub for just over 2 grand. I'm not a fan of buying anything
used, but it was a good deal. You can spend $2K on a set of Kooks headers
almost! $3K for a blower is really cheap IMO. My seats were almost a thousand
and they don't make a single horsepower.
