Ran a modded GT500 570rwhp vs cammed LS3
OK so here is the tale of the tape:
LS3 vette with cam and all the bolt ons: 487rwhp
Shelby GT500 black w/ gold stripes: 570rwhp
So I ran into this guy asked to run. We had 3 highway runs.
First run 65 to 140 = He pulls 1 1/2 car.
Second run 65 to 140 = about 1 car
We pull over I ask to go from 70 since I am starting in 3rd.
Third run 70 to 140. This time I hit the shifts faster and I was at his back wheel when we shut down. Best run for me I guess you would call that 3/4 of a car.
So now I am curious what do 570rwhp shelby gt500's run / trap speed?
Thanks!

You should be around 125 mph trapps and he should be around 126.5 mph trapps with good driving in decent weather...
To bad you guys couldnt take it up to 170 mph....I realize that is totally unsafe but i also realize that around 150ish mph you would start yanking his brick..

Nice races, man! Those damn GT500s put down some serious power with next to nothing done. I got pulled hard on the highway by a pulley/supporting mods GT500 earlier this year. THEN I got my revenge at a track rental when we were both there and he couldn't match my 11.7 because he didn't have good tires and I'm assuming wasn't the best driver. Not my fault if you show up at the track without the proper setup!

Great runs! I would guess that a GT500 with that power would be in the 125 range with an average driver. I bet a great driver could get a bit more out of it as long as it wasn't heat soaked or anything.
Sick vette, btw!

Would be interesting to see the real run then without the sandbagging. I don't see the point in it. I'm always down for a fun race. Win or lose, somebody's gotta. Just the fun of the race.
Btw, your c6 ls3 looks sexy and I can't wait to get one after college. That much power on a cam-only setup?

BTW.....with 490 to the wheels, some good traction and driving you will be near 130mph through the traps. Seen it done with similar power levels. Guy on corvette forum with bolt ons and a G6X3, stock intake and TB went over 131mph in the 1/4.

Otherwise, you're giving up a nice mechanical advantage/starting lower in the rev range/power band.
