Not a fan of the 928 at all... wtf where the germans thinking?!

all kidding aside, I only liked the 911 and the 944 lookswise. All the rest might as well have been Saab's IMO. ugh.

They as in all of them? Porsche made a lot of different 928s with different engines. I sincerely doubt the 5.4 L 345 hp 928 was in the 14s. Most weighed around 3200-3500.

I'm sure this "moderfied" 928 would've whooped the OP's *** quite well, lol

(insert mullet joke here, can't think of one)

My brother had a 944, which ended up being passed down to me as my first car...it was definitely a fun car, albeit terribly expensive to maintain. 928's still sell pretty expensively if they're kept in good shape, and the 928 S4 looks sick.

The S4 was the fastest of all of them and did 0-60 in the low 5s and 1/4 in high 13s. Not anything I would be scared of .

I hope you aren't getting your information from one of those stupid "1/4 mile" lists that are wrong 90% of the time.

For example.

This list is ****. http://www.exoticcarsite.com/0-60-qu...mile-times.htm

Don't go by it. It's wrong and not complete.

The 5.4l 345hp V8 manual 3600 lbs 928 was hitting the 1/4 in 12.9/13.2 Stock. The auto hitting 13.7s.

Seen it with my own eyes. Drove one many times (Dad owned one for 10 years)

Fastest i ever drove a car was in a 1988 928 S4 165mph. That thing was glued to the rode at that speed too. I think they are beautiful and exotic with that low and wide stance. But the interior make our F-bodys look high dollar. The switch gear is so cheap and squeaks and electrical problems everywhere and the water pumps are almost a scheduled maintance.

I'd still rock a S4 or GTS.

My dad owns one now, its sitting at my work with a cover on it. My stock LT1 would have **** all over it.

Hmm a stock LT1 runs (taking for granted your dad's 928 is an automatic) 13.7 since when?

My stock Lt1 went 13.5 @ 103 mph. And that 928 wouldnt get anywhere near a 13.7.

So your stock Lt1 went stock LS1 speeds? Why is it that everyone says the LT1 is slow then? Gotta get me one of those mid-13 LT1s..

And yes, the fastest auto 928 hits 13.7. The manual even faster.

Saw a lot of 13 sec LT1s when they were new and stock even autos. But that was at sea level in good air.

13.9 seconds I'd believe. Maybe even 13.8. (I've seen a stock 2v GT go 13.7 soo)

But not mid 13s. No, sorry. If it happened, it was an isolated incident. And I doubt it was fully stock.

Yeah it was stock just in good air and near sea level, and 103 mph should show you something about the run if you know drag racing. LS1s dont trap that low. And Im telling you I have driven my dads 928 numerous numerous times and it wouldnt be anywhere near an LS1 or LT1 for that matter in a drag race but I guess i dont know know what Im talking about so I will just leave it there.

What year is YOUR DADs 928. That's probably the difference. Again, a 345hp 3600lbs car doesn't hit high 13s. Unless of course it needs a driver's mod.

Not all 928s have 345hp. Most don't. I am betting your dad's don't.

cuz your dads one smart man, he knows that if he give that car just 10-20 years of garage duty that it will be worth some nice change.

No my dad bought it, paid cash for it, and found out how much of a peice of **** it was mechanically. Constantly having issues so he parked it and never drove it. Cars only worth about 5 grand now if that.
Kevin my dad is a 1985 or 1986 cant remember, feels geaerd to yank away on the highway but not much down low.
