2000 Camaro Z28 vs. 2010 Camaro SS
First post here.
so theres a guy in town with a 2010 SS and i drive a 00 Z28. there were some people wanting us to race so we decided to. my car only stages at 1500 because its all stock. I ended up beating the car by good half car or so length. There is no way that i should of beat him but i did. tell me what you guys thinks and ill let you no the rest of the story. Thanks!

best friend has a 95 C4 lightly modded with a 75shot. He dynoed like 315 or 320. His roommate just got a 2010SS a month or so ago, automatic and stock. The corvette pulled him hard from a roll (guy with the camaro wouldnt go from a dig) 4 times. It was pretty ugly 3-4 car lengths each time.

I would just do that anyway.
With the 75shot absolutely.
No RS and all V8s are SS:

Looks to me with equal drivers, slight edge to the Camaro but a tight race. Drop the #1 result though - full Royal Purple fluid change and K&N filter techincially not stock.

I suspect it's got its quirks like most modern cars for a great run.

Good run. The new Camaros aren't all that much faster than the old LS1 SS ones but ohh well they have all of the things our 4th gen f-bodies don't. Built much more solidly. Although still cheap interior, still looks better than ours interior wise. I just don't like the back end of them.
I loved the 498rwhp Magnacharger only bolt on to an SS in GMHTP though. Those LS3's are very receptive to mods

Also, strange as it may sound, if your tires are not as tall as the 17s on the SS, you're more aggressively geared too. Has anyone actually measured this?

people keep saying that but i think i can count the number of bone stock down to the tire 4th gens that have run 13 flat on one hand. yet there are a good handful of 5th gens doing that and a decent amount in the high 12.
