Yeah even though they are "rated" the same HP, I think the Mach1 actually is closer to that HP than the S197 is. I'd rather have a 03/04 Mach1 than a 05-10 GT any day.

Why? Mach 1's are an inferior car. For that matter, all SN95 Mustangs are an inferior car in comparison to the S197 Mustangs.

Because I like them better? I'm not going to be driving in conditions where the inferiority would even matter. And to tell you the truth, the 10/11s are the only years I've actually liked the body style of the S197s. I never did dig the retro thing. The 10/11s look more like a mix of a NewEdge and a S197s. They are making it look a bit more modern, and aggressive.

For example, I think your Cobra looks better than any S197 I've seen.

I love Mach 1's but the S197 just handles and drives soooooooo much nicer!!!! That said, I would take a mach 1 over one I think. Unless we are talking about a 2010. Call me crazy but I love everything about that body. And that dark dark blue color it comes in.... mmmm!

+1

Unit - it really comes down to one's opinion. You think an S197 wuold be a better pick because of the over all chassis design/handling (and I'm sure there's a few other reasons), but people want a car of all sorts of different reasons. You know that. Just like some think I'm crazy for getting rid of the cobra and keeping the mach (some don't). The mach is just more 'me'.

Not to mention, most guiys on this site are going to pick one car over another for 1320 racing. That's one thing the S197 GT doesn't have over the mach stock for stock, mod for mod, FI for FI.

Mach's are under-rated from the factory......05-10 GT's are not. Mach's put down on average ~10 more rwpower with a better powerband.

I agree the mach 1 does have more power and better powerband not to mention the s197 is not the most aerodynamic car there is

Maybe an a4 ls1? I'm a 6 speed and I don't have that big a trouble.

Nice death OP and pretty balsy to start off your first post on an LS1 site with a death. Unit you may think the car is better, the chassis is better, but nothing breaths like a 4V. If the 3V's were so good the GT500's would have them.

But your Ws6 could probably get a better time than 13.0 with bolt-ons.
