That is a nice kill. Can't make excuses for him although he should have known better talking smack.

What speed did you start from a roll?

If you race another, ESP partially off and letting it shift for itself is the best way to drive them. Hopefully he knew that.

A5 on those. Actually not a bad call because of the heavier weight and there are some deadspots and some really good spots to start from a roll.

Nice kill OP but there is no way he had over 400rwhp if he was stock. Its 425 flywheel and its more than 10% drivetrain loss in that trans hell its probably closer to 15% so he probably had around 40 hp on you not 100 like he thought. Guess he learned his lesson.
Yes, 425 rated stock, 355-370rwhp on the dyno depending. 400rwhp guaranteed tuned.

Nice Kill and

+1 on what Deuuuce said

He was definitely a loser for not talking after the kill.

The 6.1 is a great motor that pulls 4200 lbs quite well. I recently took a WS6 with M6 and boltons from a roll with my wife's SRT-8 Charger with just a CAI and handheld programmer. We are planning to bracket race the car this spring. I'm expecting 12.6s to 12.7s (in great air) with a 17" set of drag radials and my 100 lb wife behind the wheel.

Watch out when someone swaps the 6.1 into a 2500 lb car... It would be pretty strong even in stock form.

It also helps that our cars are underrated lol. At the engine you're taking his 425 with your 350ish. Throw in the weight difference and you have yourself a very over confident SRT-8 owner losing to a stock Trans Am lol.

I ran into 2 today. I was trying to race the 300 SRT8, but he didn't want to race. Then as I got off the exit I saw a black SRT Charger. I pulled up next to him and he rolled down the window and said "Damn your **** is clean & sounds good, what year is that?" I said the same and he smashed off. I couldn't race him though because we were on city streets.

Stock for stock I'd put money on the SRT-8 every time from a roll provided the owner knows the electronic nannys and lets it shift itself. From a dig, driver's race I'd say. Onus on the Fbody to powershift perfectly though.

350 on the high end. 425 is basically heat soaked....

I've raced SRT's before and none were good off a roll, they might have late throttle response cause even if they honk I still jump in front of em and it stays like that all the way. I pull slowly but surely

A common mistake. Sounds like they are letting it downshift instead of selecting the gear. If you pull, it could be the starting speed (deadspots in 2nd and 3rd) and if the ESP is partially off. I know, lots of excuses.

Hopefully you'll come across one that knows the car and makes it more interesting.

Weird, never ran across one that could drive I guess. Never had any trouble when this was mostly stock, hell even in my bolt on 2V mod they weren't much trouble. Could it put them so far back a bolt on 2V could keep an edge? No one ever believed I barely nosed them, but I did. I guess this explains it.

Well I guess all the ones I raced were inexperienced. I've raced 2 challengers and like 4 chargers and one truck. All srt's. The only ones that gave me a match were the chargers. I'll get them like for a nose

My a4 fbody ran a 12.97 with longtubes, lid, and deleted cats. My wife's a5 SRT8 went 12.88 with a handheld tune and mopar cold air. The SRT only hit about 84-85 in the 1/8 mile but pulled about 109 in the quarter. My A4 LS1 would do about 88 in the 1/8 but only 106ish in the quarter. The roll on power of the 6.1 is definitely stronger than my A4 was.

My cousin raced his friends 6 speed Challenger SRT8. Challenger was bone stock and my cousins WS6 had exhaust and a lid. They ran 5 times with the WS6 winning everytime by a 1/2-3/4 of a car length.
