Ok since you have a mustang you probably dont know what its like to manage power.
When i car actually makes power, (read not a mustang) it is extremely easy to spin the tires. Take in to account that there is no track prep and even the possibility of gravel and they weight of 20 inch wheels and tires its hard as hell to hook up a car. Now take in a car making lessing rwhp and on a full out slick things are different.
The dsm that the g8 raced in the video, when i was on slicks on the street i pulled out of the hole and put about 4-5 cars on him by 60. Now when i ran him on street tires i had to pedal the car to 60. Its a huge difference.

Read stopsign's sig.. It ain't your normal 5.0.. lol
But I LOVE those new G8's. I still consider getting a GT or GXP after college just because they are a nice 4 door sporty sedan, can run in winters, and they are more practical than my current f-body or something like a corvette because I could have a trunk and an actual backseat. Good numbers and good runs though man!

I launch higher than 2,500rpms on street tires with 17" wheels. Its not like he was about to lift the tires off the ground.

There is no comparing on video unless you actually race. That's like me saying watch how I pulled that car and then watch how the Z06 pulled him. I can beat the Z06!! Thats just the dummest **** I ever heard!! My car is a consistant high 10 second car on the motor. From a dig I would whoop the **** out of a stock viper but from a roll it would be a different story and thats how you guys where racing!! Please be so kind as to inform me of your mods. What does the car weigh, auto/M6, H/C/I, rearend gear, Rear Wheel HP. Thanks ![1poke](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies2/1poke.gif)

I'd take a G8 GTP over any Fbody personally: and a G8 GT over anything less than a SS FBody. Personal taste, and the fact that they dont squeek, rattle, or leak with a really really nice interior. And they are just as easy to make fast. Its the $20k price difference that makes it hard to swallow when I already have a GTO... New(er) G8 versus used Fbody of course.
