I really think the GTO rumor that they are slow is strictly because of the driver. I watched a M6 go high 14s one day. It was pathetic. Ill tell you right now, my buddy has one, he's on this board, and he'd walk the pants off you w/ those mods. He's tuned w/ full exhaust. He barely loses to his buddy in a bolt on 03 Termi. All in the driver, cause his GTO runs ***** out...

Sounds about right. When I was just bolt ons I was able to take out 2 different friends cars. Both were cam'd, geared, and tuned fbody's. And it wasn't because of their lack of driving skill either. They both can slam gears pretty good. I just think that our stock gearing really allows us to shine on the highway. Good death to a worthy opponent!

And to date, I've not yet lost to an SRT-8 anything, and I've raced probably 20 of them.
another ill informed wanna be car guy! lol i know how a few header, intake A4 fbody that make more than 350 to the wheels on a mustang dyno! and everyone know those read LOW! i have never meet a SRT8 anything that hasnt seen but my tail lights at the track even when i was bone stock!
And they still trap 114mph with "more than 350 to the wheels".

You have to admit, that's nearly not even close to the norm. As a matter of fact, that's probably the fastest stock Fbody Ls1 cars go. If there are any that have gone faster than that stock, I surely haven't hear of any. It's a rare time for such cars. I've been to the track countless times over since 98, and I have yet to see one go that fast stock. Not saying it hasn't happened, I believe it has. Just commenting on the rarity of it.

That was completely stock down to the tire.
As far as the GTO I only ran it a couple of times. When it had 500 miles on it it went 14.2 @ 103 mph in really high heat and humidity. The with 3000 miles on it it went 13.4 @ 107 mph in better weather. My 60 was a horrible 2.2 though. Now that it has a heads/cam/full exhaust 402 Stroker in it the track closed indefinately.

I would expect better ETs from GTOs and F-bodys on street tires with similar mods simply due to weight assuming equal 60fts.
From a roll, it's another story.
As as you have stated yourself, DA and conditions affected my 12.71 @ 111mph.

You've been racing bad drivers, period. I gave a modded tuned SRT-8 the hit and moved passed him so easy I was laughing about it.
I ran within 1 car of a Magnum SRT-8 in my v6 Buick Regal that runs high 13's.

intake, manifold spacer, cats/catback, dyno tuned. My wins have all been at 398rwhp or less (on the street with 91octane tune).

Luckily my match-ups have been about equal in terms of mods. If I was stock I would have lost for sure to the last 330rwhp bolt-on SS that I (barely). That SS you mention - slicks or DRs? Torque converter?

Its a manual and definately had DRs. Dont think it would be possible to pull an 11 without stickies.
