I really think the GTO rumor that they are slow is strictly because of the driver. I watched a M6 go high 14s one day. It was pathetic. Ill tell you right now, my buddy has one, he's on this board, and he'd walk the pants off you w/ those mods. He's tuned w/ full exhaust. He barely loses to his buddy in a bolt on 03 Termi. All in the driver, cause his GTO runs ***** out...

So your saying that you beat 2 f bodys that were cam'd geared and tuned. Where they from digs rolls and what trans did they have. I'm asking because if you beat those cars than for me to only lose by 1/2 car is pretty damn awesome. Also I am assuming that the fbods were LS1's correct?

All cars were 6 speed cars and races were from 70ish-140ish.

I too have had similar experience with fbody's. It usually takes a solid cam only car to beat me. Bolt on Ls1's usually cant cut it.

Gee you had DRs? That's okay, because the day and track I ran 111mph, you'd be at 110mph. Lots of 400rwhp+ bolt-on only SRT-8s trapping 113/114mph. On street tires.

And to date, I've not yet lost to an SRT-8 anything, and I've raced probably 20 of them.
BS.

More BS, I haven't lost to a stock to bolt-on LS1 yet when stock or modded.

And they still trap 114mph with "more than 350 to the wheels".

I wouldn't call his car slow by any means. Faster than yours? Yet to be seen.

Deuce lives in the land of poor drivers if he has never lost to a bolt on f body especially when stock, also especially if all he runs is 12.7 @ 111 mph. My stock WS6 went 12.8 @ 110 mph. I know of a guy here in a bolt on only SS that has gone high 11s.

You have to admit, that's nearly not even close to the norm. As a matter of fact, that's probably the fastest stock Fbody Ls1 cars go. If there are any that have gone faster than that stock, I surely haven't hear of any. It's a rare time for such cars. I've been to the track countless times over since 98, and I have yet to see one go that fast stock. Not saying it hasn't happened, I believe it has. Just commenting on the rarity of it.

That was completely stock down to the tire.

As far as the GTO I only ran it a couple of times. When it had 500 miles on it it went 14.2 @ 103 mph in really high heat and humidity. The with 3000 miles on it it went 13.4 @ 107 mph in better weather. My 60 was a horrible 2.2 though. Now that it has a heads/cam/full exhaust 402 Stroker in it the track closed indefinately.

Ive heard of faster times but it just takes the right conditions. That night it was really cool, no humidity and the D/A was negative and everything was hit perfectly on the run, almost like doing it in a vacuum.

intake, manifold spacer, cats/catback, dyno tuned. My wins have all been at 398rwhp or less (on the street with 91octane tune).

I would expect better ETs from GTOs and F-bodys on street tires with similar mods simply due to weight assuming equal 60fts.

From a roll, it's another story.

Luckily my match-ups have been about equal in terms of mods. If I was stock I would have lost for sure to the last 330rwhp bolt-on SS that I (barely). That SS you mention - slicks or DRs? Torque converter?

As as you have stated yourself, DA and conditions affected my 12.71 @ 111mph.

You've been racing bad drivers, period. I gave a modded tuned SRT-8 the hit and moved passed him so easy I was laughing about it.

I ran within 1 car of a Magnum SRT-8 in my v6 Buick Regal that runs high 13's.

It was the second day of owning my 05 GTO and we went off a 20 and i was in second gear but when we went i pulled right away and kept pulling.

Just my experiance with one.

Its a manual and definately had DRs. Dont think it would be possible to pull an 11 without stickies.
