NO VID! Stock C6 Z06 vs Evo-X (big turbo 550awhp)
Just to stir it up a bit....
I recently ran a good friend of mine that got a few things done to his Evo 10. The car runs really well, and 550awhp is on pump... the motor/turbo setup can run over 600awhp on the good fuel.
Anyways, All runs were from 60mph except where he wanted to go from a dig. (I'm running the NT05's and they are just about done... so no grip for me!)
We ran it a bunch of times. First time the car was breaking up since he brake boost WAY to much...
Anyways, all runs we hit even, me in 2nd. Top of 2nd, we were about dead even.... top of 3rd (120mph+) I was starting to creep on a few runs some not as hard but still some move. I would throw 4th and the move got more significant. The problem is that by then he is in 5th and he is worried about racing in 5th.... Oh-well! The point is that when he went to 5th, I would start to yank pretty good.
So, good fun, that evo would surprise a lot of cars but again, it is going to take more to beat a STOCK c6 z06. (No worries, I really don't have a custom dyno tune on a diablo tuner that I like to say I don't have yet want to sell it to someone else!!! ) If the race went to my top of 4th (160mph+) I think I would of been infront.
CYA!

?? So you are saying you have a custom tune but havent installed it yet and want to sell it, or you DO have a custom diablo tune and tell people that you dont? Think you had one too many Cervasa's before typing!
"If the race went to my top of 4th (160mph+) I think I would of been infront."
?? So you weren't infront before 4th?
Good Kill BTW. I never knew a Evo could run over 450awhp without race gas... is it a bigger cc engine?

Evos have broken 600whp on pump gas (stroked to 2.3l), and have gone over 500whp on the pump with stock displacement. Nice races OP. Those EVO X's have the aerodynamic qualities of a brick wall. I'm sure you would have walked away from him above 150mph.

Not on a high roll. The Evo X lacks any aero capability so after 120 mph I could see a Z06 pulling one by a car or two but not below 120 mph . But who races 60-120 these days? It's all about 60-140 or 160 even.

Yeah, they will surprise you... but at the end of the day, its all about Hp to weight + gearing. That is why a civic weighing it at 2500lbs with 550fwhp, though has traction issues, will beat a stock Z06 no problem ( by a car in my case) while an EVO at 3400lbs is door to door until 120mph. Gearing is also VITAL since a car that shifts more often will drop back and will not have enough gearing to pull enough MPH to stay ahead. The longer the gears, though your powerband has to be matched, the longer you stay "on" to pull away.
This is a good friend of mine and I know for a fact that he is making the 550awhp (549awhp exactly) We wanted to try it out but we both knew that it would be a good race.
It wasn't a kill however, right before you shut down (120mph est.) I was beginning to moderately walk on him. He knew that I was gonna get him up top!
Sticks N stones:
LOL Nah bro, I was fine... its a quick jab at a local that roams these waters! I'll leave it at: its the same BS story we have all been hearing for a few now around here and its hilarious it is still going!

The car moves pretty good... but I think the faster we go the more in front I'll be. But definitely has potential when we moves to race fuel or at least E85.
YEah bro, been out of comish' for a while. Asniel and Chris (v6 Accord) were actually over the other day, got a decent apartment right now.. and my heineken mini-keg cooler!!!

A fully bolted and tuned Evo X should run mid 12's. A stock c6z should run high 11's. To get 550awhp out of an evo you MUST upgrade the turbo and multiple other things (injectors, fuel pump, and engine internals if you don't want to detonate). With that said, it's a ton of work and money and still BARELY as fast as a STOCK Z06. You can't really compare the cars as the Z06 is in a different league.
I've spent over $50k on my 2013 evo x and I really wished I would've just bought a slightly used C6Z for that price. Live and learn! Evo is up for sale and the Z is in the sights as we speak

And no...a stock C6Z should run not run high 11's. Maybe with a shitty driver, but they are capable of low 11's/high 10's stock. And yes, I've witnessed this with local cars.
