I don't know what year it was but it was a newer one. 4 door. black. Call BS all you want, anything can happen on the street. Driver or other wise.

But diesel 335i's right with gas 335i's until triple digits.
When I got next to him, I couldn't tell if it said 335 or 338. We only raced that one time. I first thought it was a 325 when we were side by side. every time he shifted he fell back and thats probably why I go so far ahead. 2 gear we were side by side. But really, why would the guy want to race. I wasn't even thinking about it because I was looking at my phone. Friday frisky day I guess.

If it was a 325, which I do remember one being there....but it was behind me and a woman so I doubt it being that one. Or maybe a male that looked like a woman? haha

And now I wish I did join in. I was going to take grand all the way to downtown but I figured traffic would suck so I took McDowell and Van Buren side streets. Also I was only down Northern searching for a place for breakfast.xD

I live near 87th and Northern and take Grand because it's fast and cuts the miles. No this guy had a partially bald head older man. Diamond Back plate.

I would happily trade him cars. My NCOIC has a 2007 BMW 325i and that thing is tight. Awesome interoir too and I think a 6 speed.

I think it was a Diesel considering you said it had a D on the back. They are about a half second to a full second slower than a 335i in a 1/4 mile plus I would believe he is pretty much stock as there isn't a whole lot on the market for the 335d. I actually had a guy in a HHR SS with Exhaust ask if I could keep up with him. Kept having to hit the brakes or I would have went through him. Guy was pretty cool and was surprised as he stayed on it up to 120mph while I had to modulate throttle and brake to keep from hitting him .

re-read what the OP said above. He said it said 335I, and unless he got a I and changed it from a D, then the OP said he was sure it was a 335I.

Those bimmers weigh alot, and with an older dude not fully redlining it i can totally see the HHR SS taking the win.

Congrats good way to start a friday right?

Bzzzt - looks like they are about 150lbs (max - some are as light as 3500) over the missile HHR

How's traffic on grand ave? What time you set out? I go to the downtown ASU campus every day at around 7. With I-10 having such horrid traffic, I'm looking for a new route.

Grand rocks. I leave about 6AM and get to work on 52nd St and McDowell at about 6:35 AM on the average. Grand to the downtown and 202 to McDowell.

Yep it was an I and not a D. Maybe this might help. It was a 4 door, and the exhaust had 4 tips and not just 2. They looked sorta like this

M3 is the only 3 that comes stock with 4 exhaust tips. If it was a 335i with 4 tips then it was an aftermarket exhaust.

Good kill. Usually someone who will mod the exhaust (DP back, Cat back, or axle back) will have spent money on more HP yielding mods that cost the same or less.

Mine without Meth puts down close to 400whp. Have not dyno'd with meth yet but hoping for 425-430whp still on the stock turbos. With meth it should be a high 11 second car 120+ mph. Fingers crossed I can drive as good as some of the other people with the same mods.

Actually autos are faster. They all just need a little more boost.

N54s respond so well to boost. The JB tune on 75% power on my friends car is pretty nasty....I was surprised how much torque it made.

Power is easy to make but then I started looking at the prices of FMICs and DPs and it made me cringe. European tax = ouch.

Luckily there are ebay parts available, like catless 2.5inch DPs for 200 shipped, and FMICs can also be found real cheap and many people can back up the wuality on the ebay parts. Same story with E46 M3s, ebay headers are liek %20 price but 100% of the performance, and so far durability on ebay BMW parts has been outstanding.

Thats good to know, I hope to own a BMW in the near future....possibly after selling the monte carlo. eBay used to be so much better, cleaner...easier to use, nobody was trying to scam you, etc. I made two eBay purchases in the last year, an exhaust and some CCFL headlights (which sucked) and both times it was a headache to get my items. Paypal disputes with both of them, weeks went by and I finally got my items. And this was buying from eBay stores...

So that pretty much ended my eBay purchasing.

I was pretty dead set on getting a 335i as my next car too, checked out e90post for a few months, called around to talk to some friends wo worked at BMW and i changed my mind lol.

Far too unreliable, and when someting breaks out of waranty the prices to replace things are astounding. I cant afford a brand new one but a certified pre owned one and i have head so many horror stories that i may hold off till o can afford a brand new one, or just get something else.
