No one else thinks this is all just Ford hyping up their Mustang to get sales? Do you guys really think production GT's are gonna be making 400whp and trapping 112+?

 

If you knew anything about the motor your answer would be yes. But I'm sure you know next to nothing about the motor so you will not believe it until it happens. You wont have to hold your breath too much longer.

 

Why would they need to hype anything up for sales? Ford has out sold Chevy for over 20 years now! This 5.0 engine has been in Fords R&D for a couple of years now. Why would it be anything less than a beast? I am a GM guy when it comes to racing although I do love the Fords (mainly the older ones) but it sounds like some of you guys are getting all butt hurt already and refuse to believe that you may finally have a little friendly Ford competition! I love and respect any car that can run and I promise you new 5.0 GT will move out!!

I really can't wait until the coyote is running on the streets in the hands of some of the real drivers out there (not claiming to be a real driver btw ). Then we will see what the ss will do to the 5.0 and/or vice versa (5.0 with a pretty good lead probably ). I agree about the z28 being released in '11, at least that is what has been confirmed. The z28, like stated above, used to be the top dog at one time (yes over the SS), and the fact it is super charged now sends shivers down my spine. It will not be a direct competitor for the 5.0, but it will run with the GT500 and the GT350 (from C.shelby himself-cool car coming soon!). The GT500 may see an increase in power since the GT350s proposed ratings would put it smack on the the GT500 category. Also the GT350 will likely be a limited production, but that is just a guess. Either way, I think we can all wholeheartedly agree that the muscle wars are back on, and better than ever! I for one is happier than a pig in ****!

 

I'm not disputing Ford sales Vs GM. Glad you could find that article from 2006 which basically says their disputing over sales...Boring. I'm not a die hard GM is the best kind of person. Although, I do think their quality is improving.

How's the comment stupid? Everyone says you make closer to 500whp yet you said you dyno 297whp. Common sense would tell us if the new GT dyno's where you dyno'd they'd make about 200whp.

I mean, I've taken the heads off and swapped cams in Mustangs/LS1s/302s as well. I am not talking about mechanical capability, I am talking about basic comprehension and intelligence. Which after reading basically all your posts, you seem to be lacking quite a bit. You don't have to be smart to turn a wrench and follow instructions. And just because somebody doesn't have a car at the moment doesn't make their input count any less.
