Raced a New Camaro
Well last night i was coming from my girls house at about 230am, virtually open highway with little traffic. Im driving casually and see a camaro driving well above the speed limit. Once he passed me, he slowed down. So i decided to give chase.
His car looked good with definitely an aftermarket exhaust. It was white and black and what looked to be like stock ground effects.
At the time, i was in my 2003 nissan maxima se 6 spd, my car is definitely not something to be bragging about. Its just a good smooth daily driver
that is not by any means a sports car. But i do like to go WOT occasionally just because of the fact that its a manual...
My car has no mods but is definitely not running to its full potential currently, due to a faulty knock sensor and a clogged up catalytic converter... Im not new to maximas but i feel like the car is chocked for power sometimes
So like i said, i gave chase and instantly he got on it. We lined up and knowing that im a slower car, at about 80 mph in 4th gear i took off without honking and jumped a couple of cars on him. By that time i could already hear his exhaust through my rolled up windows. To tell you the truth, it took him a damn while to catch up and pass me... And we were racing for at least 5 miles of open freeway reaching speeds of over 130mph... Everytime i gunned it, he had a lot of trouble passing me... he was just creeping away instead of my expectation - running away...
That makes me think that it was a V6, but still with 304 hp its a solid runner and should put busses on a grossery getter maxima...
Now i want to get a new cat and replace my knock sensor...
Conclusion: Camaro- 1 Maxima- 0
It was truly the longest race i have ever been in...

Those Maximas move out for what they are. As someone stated above, pretty quick cars for what you would expect. Definitely not capable of beating an ss, but by no means are those cars turds.
