Default New GT Mustang

Not much of a racing story. Well me and my budy get back from the club, we role up to a street near him where everyone cruises on. He sees one of his friends on the street, gt mustang, he sais I should race him. I'm like what for, it's a GT. He's like man they are still a pritty fast car, I'm thinking, so I say yes. I role up next to this guy, and he said he wants to race. So we burn up the tires and then set up at the line. As soon as the light went, I was gone, he was no where to be found. I beat this guy by half a block. I really don't understand why people buy GT Mustangs and then they think they are going to race them. These cars are for show man, I like their looks and everything, but when they think they can stand up to a LS1.
Then my buddie's like you got a good hook. I'm like whatever. I just don't think that 4.6L are worth throwing money into!!!!!

I think the GT's look like crap. They look like V6's and are gaudy. Not to mention they are asa aerodynamic as delta burke. They are built like a flippin troll. And, Bullitts (just GT's with super stickers) are butt ugly.

I dont know... I kinda like the GT's just not as much as the cobra... I just like the way the newer stangs look... Performance wise, a GT really isnt that slow... WHEN you compare it to all the other things on the road... I mean, of course there are cars that are going to beat it... especially something like an LS1, but c'mon, they are faster than like 90% or the cars on the road...

Anywho... Nice kill or... slaughter

13.3 is pretty slow, you have to admit. I won't call your car ugly. It is a little riced out though.

I'm not flaming you or anything like that, but you should take off the headlight and taillight black outs. Your car will look a lot cleaner that way.

13.3 is pretty slow compared to what an LS1, Cobra, 10 sec drag car. What do you considered to be riced out? The fact that my car has blackouts on it? I like my blackouts and so does everyone else I talk to, except a few. I just don't want my car to be like every other mustang on the road, that is why people modify their cars. 90% of the time I don't have my front ones on anyways. Its not like I have a body kit, huge spoiler or stickers everywhere.

Actually i think the blackouts look pretty damn good on there, but can you really get a 13.3 with just an intake and an exhaust on that thing?

Brando-
Take it easy man. You have to understand this is a LS1 board, so of course most people aren't gonna dig your car. Me personally i like the way 99+ Gt's and Cobra's look. I just think your car looks a little naked w/o it's wing. Thats all.

No offense or nothin but mustangs are pretty slow, i've got a buddy with a 92 5.0 that beat a 5speed rousch mustang by like 4 or 5 cars in a 1/4 which had the intake and exhaust mods.

You really gotta compare "new" cars to new EQUAL cars.. Lets take my 03 Mach1 for example.. Not a GT nor a Blown Cobra, but More made to race right outta the box.. Still only a N/A 4.6L but Much better, more "fair" car if you will to use against the 5.7L GM wouldnt ya say?.. So lets use that currently $24K Mach1 as a reference point & go from there.. Well we cant compare it to the SS Camaro now because their (gone but not forgotten) Which really sucks for me too by the way.. so we will have to wait till this spring whan the "new" LS1 Gen. III GTO shows up at the track.. I CANNOT wait myself!! My 03 Mach1 VS. the new LS1 powered GTO.. This is going to be a nice REAL comparison with same weight & such.. Its gonna be good.. Real strip stuff.. No kiddie street crap.. Mach1 vs. GTO SUNDAY! SUNDAY! SUNDAY!

Probably the exact same as the Camaro was just before it was killed off im hoping.. I was having alot of fun with that SS at the strip when i first got the Mach1.. Im truly anticipating the GTO will be as good an opponent as the SS was in 01&02

You think that's underrated? I know they're supposed to have 345hp which is more than the transams or the camaros but how much do they weigh?

They weigh about 3700 and have 350 HP and 365 TQ. The numbers should be essentially the same as any 02 LS1.

I expect times to be similar to those in an 02 LS1.

well i know a good way to make over 500 rwhp out of the 2v mustang, but i am too lazty to type that **** up. just need the new KB twin screw blower, a new diablo chip for the smaller 2.??" pulley, and also 90mm mass air meter, and 75 mm throttle body. throw in a cobra forged crank. and some 93 octane or even some racing fuel, like c-14 or c-26 and you have 500 rwhp after break in i figure that the motor should be boosted in the 14 or 15 lb area. they have done some of that with the 2v cars on untouched heads or cams and they are making 510 rwhp with similar combos!~

Are we going to have to go through the motions of a bench race argument for Mach1 vs. GTO. Quite frankly I think it's not necessary, nor would most of us care.
