Default 5.slow fox vs contour SVT (video)

just stirring the pot a little for some extra attention with the title (no harm intended)
SKIP DOWN TO VIDEO IF YOU DONT WANNA READ!

BACKGROUND:
this was from about a week or so ago in my friends car. just put the headers on the SVT that week so we were cruising around. saw this guy in a fox (w/ passenger), caught him at a light.

we tried to get him to run out of it, he even revved it, but then my friend got a great RT off the light so the stang didnt go, so we let out. caught another light not even 1/4 mile down the road. i asked if he had mods, said no but even our driver said he sounded louder than that, as i thought too.

this time he played on green, got a slight jump and we spun big time out of it, but there was traffic right ahead of us so we shut down pretty quick ( maybe 60mph) as traffic was ahead, both even but he stayed in it.

finally we got out onto the backroads, told him to follow and he did.....

mods:
fox(m5)-5.0, "stock" ---didnt sound like it, maybe at least exhaust.
CSVT(m5)- msds headers, high flow2.5" -Y, no cats, magnaflow mufflers, short ram intake (which got pretty hot, think heat soak from a termi), 225s (bigger than stock), brembos, 75mm MAF, 65mm TB, port & polished intake manifold, toresen LSD. untuned. [btw, 2.5 v6] i think thats all he has

VIDEO:
~15 roll to about 115---CSVT has traction problems, even from a roll.

[LET ME KNOW IF YOU CANT VIEW THE VID OFF MY FRIENDS FACEBOOK]

i dont know why he let out, we had plenty of room left to go, but i guess he was runnning out of power. guy was pretty cool, i was filming, gave him a thumbs up and went our seperate ways.

forgot to mention. we ran another (quieter, assuming stock) 5.0 fox about a week before that, without headers from a 60 roll, he got the hit and we were even til about 10 until we started to pull so he quit.

these cars are pretty neat for a DD. my friends done just about every bolt on possible. id pick one up if i had they money. no one can get them into the 12s though, because of traction. i just asked him and these are the fastest times, even with a 3.0L swap. the fastest turbo/nitrous, and n/a all went 13.2-13.6 @ 120+.

That guy that said 'they dont' call them 5.slows for nothing' is quite ignorant or likes to to toy around. LOL

A lot of people under estimate CSVT's. However, that's a fair amount of mods to simply run ~mid 14s.

haha thats me its a running joke cuz a friend of mine has a 95 gt (5.0, obviously) and i was hoping he'd see it. if you follow my posts here, i dont hate on stangs. actually i just started another thread in bench racing about that one.

once i figure this new issue with my car out, im itching to race a certain fox myself. i raced him when he was stock (yes, another stock one!) and he thought he was hot ****, obviously i walked away from him quite quickly. apparently he rebuilt the motor. going to a local meet tonight and hoping to find out what he did.

oh yeah, that 2nd fox i mention (not in vid) had a cage

Shut up! You are lying. I don't believe you.

On another note at the Auto Fair there was a black on black 5 speed 93 Notchback that looked like it had 20k miles on it. Good God was it nice! But I wouldn't want a car like that. I would ruin it. That thing should stay stock and low miles.

haha, sorry, shouldn't have mentioned anything I don't know how low the miles were (didn't really look too closely), but the body was near perfect, and I think it was right around $5k or less.

Your buddies Contour isnt gonna run 13's if thats all it had against a stock 5.0 that probably runs high 14's IF it was running right 23 years after it came off the factory floor. Nice sleeper though and good video!

You wont be able to hear the rattles over the motor and you wont have to look at it very long.

it'd take some serious traction without a 3.0 swap. GL though.

hes got some other **** coming in, and strongly considering the 3L swap since its just a couple hundread bucks. hes a pretty good driver though, so its not out of the question. although i am doubting it a little more since he said stock 5.0s run high 14s.

pends on teh 5.0. They are generally mid 14s-15s. IMO, he'd need a 3.0 swap to pull out 13s. But that's my opinion.
