I thought Mach 1's were a closer race for a stock LS1? I would the TA is auto and the Mach is M5 so he had traction issues.

These vids are a PRIME example why some people dont' believe machs are a driver's race. THat guy couldn't drive for ****. Am I saying OP should have lost? Hell no, but it shouldn't have been a slaughter like that.

Funny thing is, if they weren't so far away and they'd be willing, I'd honestly love a meet up. Always good to catchup with some members and I was serious about giving that mach guy some pointers. That was a disgrace. yuck. LOL

Both cars are stick shift and with equal mods. We have had these cars for about the same time. He originally wanted an ls1 camaro but went for the mach. :-/

Um, yeah, that's a 5 hour drive for me....easily. Mayeb even 6.

I can tell you right now he's short shifting. Tell him to try this combo:

1-2 6650-6800
2-3 and 3-4 6350-6500

Tell him to toy around in those area's in those gears and feel out which rpm area works best for him. He also could use some practice in his actual shifts. Tell him to log in and PM me if he wants.

He is never on forums. I will let him know your pointers and see how it goes. Idk where the power is on mach ones so I couldn't really tell him anything.

I don't doubt that at all. I've come across so many Mach owners that don't know the best shift points. Their used to GT's, 5.0's, or even N/A cobra's. A lot of drivers either short shift, or shift at redline in all gears and that will take away most (if not all) of the pull in the powerband.

I agree that something is up with that Mach. He cant drive and his car could possibly be running poorly. They are usually pretty damn close and that wasnt close at all.

its short shifting to the fullest, and it makes a big difference in a race. I have ran mach owners who know how to drive and mach owners who dont. When one of my friends first got his mach I rode with him a few times and he kept short shifting thinking he was doing something because he was shifting fast. I kept telling him he was shifting to early but he told me to stick to LS1's lol. He ran a 13.6 and he finally realized he was shifting to early. He later ran a 13.1 later that day

Yup, that guy either couldn't drive his Mach 1 to its potential or there was something wrong. Either way a win is a win.

Agreed. My other friend also told em that he is short shifting. Lol. He doesn't know the full potential of the car yet. He should keep up with me for sure. We will run again after we give him a couple of lessons and film it again to see if there is a difference.
