Was cruising down the road and noticed a solid open stretch of highway up ahead and a blue Mach 1 behind me. I slow down and wait for him to get beside me. The Mach downshifts and I do the same and we both hit it at about 30mph. Both cars are driver only.

We shut down around 105mph. The Mach's front bumper was at my rear bumper. Gave the guy a thumbs up went on about my way. It turns out the Mach driver is the friend of a friend and I was able to find out the Mach was M5 with intake/exhaust gears. Unknown about a tune or the gears as the friend I spoke to isn't that up on cars.

A few days later same situation only it was a blue Subaru WRX STi. 2004ish model. The STi had a female driver, male passenger, AND loud exhaust. We hit it from a 40ish punch and I pulled half a car to about 90mph where we shut down for traffic. Traffic cleared and tried again, but the STi missed 3rd >.<.

Got to a stoplight and I spoke with the passenger. He said the STi wasn't stock but wouldn't elaborate. Anyways, light turned green and the girl driving the STi dumped it at about 4k and left me sleeping there. STi jumped out about two cars and I had the distance closed back down to about a car at 90mph where we shut down again. Wasn't able to speak to 'em again.

TL;DR '05 M6 GTO with just a K&N FIPK pulls M5 Mach 1 with intake/exhaust gears from 30 to 105mph and loses to an STi from a dig.

ok is your GTO a 5.7 LS1 or the 6.0 LS2. Just curious because I know when some of the stang guys see this they are going to ask the same thing.

good kills/death. racing an AWD car from a dig is definitely giving him his race. the mach race suprised me, but isnt a crazy big gap, so i belive it.

I knew that they started making the LS2 in the GTO's in 05...but I didn't know the LS1 was no longer offered after 05 in the GTO's. I don't even know if the LS1 was stopped after 05 in the GTO. So quit busting my *****

It wasn't offered at all in 05. The LS1 was 04 only.

Nice runs and kills. Be carefull about taking them Mach 1's for granted though: a tuned, bolton, geared Mach will walk your stock goat most of the time.
