Haha yeah 02wife called out LT1's saying "H/C LT1's couldn't make it into the 11's even if they were trailered to the track. Find me LT1's that can beat me."
To the above I just did a face palm and called him out on it. You'd figure with Livernois tuned, full bolt-ons, ported ls6 heads, a 230+ duration cam with ~.590 lift, 3.42's, and 3600 stall could make it past 11.9@115mph

My first F-body was a six speed 95' Z/28 that I bought in May of 97. It was the LT1's low end torque that made me fall in love with the damn thing. That thing felt like the fastest thing on the road back then. My memories of that car are of it feeling like its pulling much harder when you punched it. Its funny cause my current car would likely spank it as the 95 was stock other than cai.
That LT1 car took a pounding as I drove it Luke Duke. It leaked from the rear end, the tranny and the engine -- but was amazingly still strong when I sold it back in 2002.

Hey slayer I read your previous posts. I see you have a lot of suspension work done and have nitrous in your lil cam only ls1. I dont know where your from but if we lived close and you didnt spray me I would smmack you around in my H/C ls1.

My first was a 96 LT1 Z28, felt like the fastest thing in the world. Tracked it to a 13.8 @ 102 mph, I couldnt believe how fast it went stock. Put a 3.73 rear in it with a CAI and it went a blistering 13.5 @ 104 mph. I was giddy with excitement. Then I started ahving issues like Opti and tranny issues and oil leaks all over so I sold it for a 02 WS6. Tracked it and my very first pass was 13.3 @ 107 mph that eventually dipped in to the high 12s stock @ 110 mph. I really didnt miss my LT1 too much after that.

Why don't you stop being a ricer and race him with whatever mods he has done? Like I've said before, you only want to race cars with less power than you, or things you know you can beat. Man up, and race someone with whatever setup they have. I'll race you if you pull the H/C out of the car, how about that? Sounds stupid, doesn't it?

yeah, but thats like saying i have a bolt on only and pull up with a blower. The fact is a stock lt1 vs a stock ls1 with excelentt drivers in both cars at the track...ls1 wins clearly. Now mods and different drivers definatly play a part. I owned a 94 lt1 as a senior in high school with a full exhaust and thought it was the ****. Now i have a 99 h/c and all bolt ons and couldnt be happier. Both great cars though.

Well im talking to you. Im not against run what you brung, anyone can man up and do that. Its about what origanaly started this thread. The difference between two cars, the ls1 and lt1. So run what you brung does not aply here. Take a hike.

I'm betting the other "all motor cars" guys would not want to be lumped into any group that you are in, especially one that would make them look like little bitches. Run what you brung and regardless of the results shake the other guy's hand and tell him good race.

Theres nothing wrong with run with what you brung. I dont have a problem with it, but if a car has nitrous, or is running slicks, compared to drag radials those are factors that are important!
