Default Bolt on LT1 vs 2010 SS

Not trying to start a flame war, but how did I hang with this 2010 SS?

My car:
1995 LT1 Z28 Camaro
Full weight (me and my gf)
CAI
Headers, full exhaust
car might have 3.73's
6spd

His sounded like a stock 2010 SS auto, white with chrome rims and a windshield banner, dunno what it said.
Looked like he had a passenger.

He definitely wasn't sandbagging, I would doubt after 3 races with an LT1 right at his heels he would take it easy.

I started by messing around through a 1-2 shift and saw him in the rear view, then we started pacing each other.

First race, no honks just kind of a roll from about 30, stayed pretty even until about 90 and I was at his bumper, by 120 I was about a car behind.

The GF and I were pretty much shitting bricks at this point, thinking he wasn't going full throttle.

Second race, preparing to get ***-whooped, was from 2nd gear, maybe 40?
Again, I was right at his heels until about 120.

We're amazed, so we bust out the camera and start to pace again, hoping for one more race so this wasn't just another "big fish that got away" story.

Third race:

Picture of the car:

Does this outcome seem right to you guys?

If the driver of the other car is on here, please chime in, I don't want to bash your car, but it was and SS, correct?

Oh by the way, all footage was computer generated and/or filmed in Mexico.
=)

Don't know man: the real truth will be resolved when you go to the track and run your car. Though with your mods against a stock auto SS the results wouldn't surprise me too badly.

sounds about right he looks about a car and a half away. The auto 2010 Camaro only traps 105-107mph tops (ive even seen much slower) so this race looks perfectly normal. Youre talking about a 400hp car that weighs 3950lbs without driver!

Oh sorry, the picture was just taken while cruising, it was after we were done playing.

I ran like a 9 flat at the track (1/8th mile) and thats the best I could do out of like 7 passes. Thats what, still a 14? lol.

Only thing is I MIGHT be a bit faster at shifting now, I still can't launch, and I went from 2.5" True Duals to a 3" catback.

Car was probably stock. With your mods you should be right there with a '10 SS. Nope, not suprising at all.

happysem our 1/8 mile tracks aren't very reputable for track prep. What was your 60'?

dont worry about it, a bad 60' time doesnt always mean a bad driver. The only people that would talk crap about that are ones that havent really ran their cars at a crappy track.

Nobody was making fun.

Track prep, tire, suspension, gear, or driver...doesn't matter, 2.25 60' is still weak :p.

No, I had good tires, good track prep... I just couldn't launch.

I'm sure the 275 Nitto Invo's were a plenty decent tire for a bolt on LT1 lol.
