No EVO is a DSM.

DSM stands for Diamond Star Motors.

Mitsubishi and Chrysler teamed up in 1989 or so for a few years and built jointly developed cars at the plant in Normal, Illinois.

(When someone says DSM, they generally only mean the Talon, Eclipse, or Laser models built there)

Evos are built in Japan, so they aren't DSMs. The EVO I-III had a very similar engine to the DSMs built in Illinois (they were built during the same time period).

The later EVOs (besides the X) had the same engine code, but the engine was flipped around to provide better weight distribution.
