I've always thought the average 99+ 2v w/ a blower (centri) would be between 380-420rwhp. Thats gotta be good for 118-120 traps and mid 11's?

I've seen them around 360rwhp too. It depends on mods, tune, and mostly PSI. Not that you dont' already know that. The guys that are 400+rwhp are 10+psi. I personally have yet to hear of one hitting 400rwhp with less than 10 psi. BUT, I'm a 4V guy so that may not be saying much.

Buddy of mine has a 2V GT with a T-Trim and cams, almost 500rwhp and still hasn't blown up despite his best efforts.

And the award for the most off context post goes too..

When did I ever say my car was fast? Telling me my car is slow doesn't hurt my feelings. Really.

Having said that, I've taken owners of LS1 Camaro's with similar mods as yours. (Not counting the "on shelf still" ones. )

There's a supercharger on someone's shelf that will eventually be put into my car as well.

And guess what. IT will STILL be slow then too.

Slow just like your car in your sig is slow as well.

When I start acting cocky about my car being fast, or threatening to race people with my car, then such comments would be relevant. And that simply isn't going to happen. Not even when I'm done with it. Because like I said, it will still be slow.

I've never had a mod motor...but I've helped my brother with his 99 Cobra and now his 97 with an 03 Longblock...the first time I saw a modular engine bay (mind you, all I saw before that were 5.0 pushrod engine bays), I think I curled up in the fetal position sucking my thumb for a few hours as I rocked back and forth in the corner.

Anything modular with less than 4 valves is a joke. I wonder what the records are for 2Vs both na and FI.

There is a guy that is in the 11s I believe N/A on a 2v. With boost? The options are limitless depending how much money you want to spend. Put forged internals in the sucker and you can get 650+ out of them. The block will hold more HP than the 5.0 before it. I've heard between 700 and 1000 hp out of the stock block. A new set of heads really wakes the car up. And right now the only set that are worth a darn is the trick flows. Those heads flow as good, or close to 4v heads.

But yeah... for the most part, I'd never use a 2v as a basis for a track car. Not that it can't be done, it just depends on what kind of money you want to put into it.

I would say it would depend on the car/driver.

I never got the fascination to tie in a violent sexual act with winning a race BTW.

I believe a gentleman by the name of Ken Bjonnes was running high 10s back in '04 or '05 in a 283ci 2V. 10.83 @ 121mph is what he ran.

Ive got a question for you 2V guys...

I work with a kid who has a 01 GT M5 with shorty headers, ORX pipe and duals dumped, CAI, and i think he said something about a mail order tune...but thats basically it. I work with a bunch of Ford mechanics and they all think he can take me. Ive told them that its gonna be closer than they think, with me coming out on top most likely. What do you think? mods in sig

He *might* be able to take you from a dig if he either has DRs, 4.10s, or both. But DEFINITELY not from a roll. You're still a solid ~5mph faster in the 1/4 than him.

The fastest 2v na was owned by a member here. It ran mid 10s at 3k lbs. He could have really benefitted from the new heads. FI, I don't know if anyone has gone 7s but 8s for sure. If you're looking into a race only setup it would be foolish not to go 4v.

I believe the tfs heads flow 260 out of the box and MMR is supposedly offering a stage lll set that flow around 300.

TF has or is going to have two sets. One for N/A and one for Boost. The latter will cost more.
