Default Raped a 2V

I was rolling out of the local DQ with my girl in the car and the t-tops off when a 96-98 Mustang GT black with yellow stripes drives by and revs the crap out of his car. I turn the corner and he swerves instantly to get behind me as i take a right. As i turn right he gets in the lane next to me and just takes off. We catch a red light and on green he takes off with the jump so i nail it and by 90 i had 4+ cars on him. I took the next left and he drove by and revved his engine again twice. I'm not sure what he was trying to prove by rapping out his non-PI 2V. Maybe he was saying "Yes, it is a V8 although it performs like a V6."

To be honest, 4-6 cars by 90mph is pretty good for a non-PI GT . I would imagine he had damn near full bolt-ons, at the least.

Yeah I was thinking the same exact thing: especially after I saw he was running headers and some other stuff himself.

No ****, I thought he'd have 6-8 on him. Either way, good kill. You couldn't pay me enough money to drive an NPI 2v...

I would second the knife to a gunfight analogy.

I had an NPI 2V several years back. It was a late-year '98 so it had 3.27s vs 3.08s, and I had ~50lbs removed (dog-bone, aftermarket X-pipe, no exhaust tips). Also swapped in PI cams and a PI intake manifold, and it could get out of it's own way in the end. 4.10s, LTs, and ported PI heads would have made it quite fun.

No doubt 2v aren't the best performers but the new tfs heads are looking promising. I'll wait till I see some more boosted application numbers before I pick up a set.
