Exactly what i was thinking. Ill race him as soon as we can work it out. Ill try to get a video, then ill post up another thread with the results.

He's most likely not getting all he can with a mail order over a custome tune. Also, no offense to anyone here, but mechanics are mechanics. That doesn't mean they know performance much less competition.

IMO, unless he has gears, he won't have much of a chance.

I raced a New Edge GT with gears and a very nice sounding exhaust. Probably x-pipe and catback, but it wasn't confirmed. We never got to go from a stop, but I did a 20 mph roll and he was next to me through first when I was spinning. It was cold out and it was spinning pretty bad through first. When I hit second, I started pulling away hard and third gear was destruction. He pulled up and was impressed that I pulled on him that hard, but he actually had more questions about why my exhaust was so loud. He swore I had straight pipes but I was running the setup in my sig. I guess it's pretty noisy. Anyways, from a stop he would probably get a car or so on you through first but you will come around him hard by the top of second based on my experience.

Full exhaust and a K&N on a foxbody coupe and you "raped" a full exhaust/geared/tuned '04 GT? That GT would be a skip away from a stock LS1 in the 1/4... if they can drive.

A full exhaust + K&N 5.0 is not equal to a PI GT w/ FE, gears, and tune. No way. You'd get raped.

I feel like such a noob for asking this, but what does PI stand for? I know it's the type of engine but not sure what it actually means.

And the PI heads etc still suck. Just not as bad as the ones before it. If Ford actually put better heads on the 2v it would have been in the 300-315 hp zone.

Thanks for the opinions guys. But im sure this next race with the 01 GT will have a little bit less "raping" involved.

I ran a buddies 88 5.0 5 speed (converted) with 45k miles and full bolt-ons (tb, lt headers, catback, 3.55's, nittos, pulley's etc.) with my jlt intake/catted x pipe 03 GT and RAPED him....
Well I didn't rape him but I got him by at least 3-4 from a dead stop. Raped just sounded good I guess...

I wish I had it on video...he told me what he had before we raced and I thought the same thing...he could have fucked up his driving though...keep in mind my coupe was a 4 cyl conversion with some minor weight reduction...

4cyl conversions are great my cusin did that and it moved out pretty good. Pluse it cost him 1500 when he was all said and done
