ya thats i bet ur like high 14s no doubt which would be a decent race for a stock lightning.

and its not rocket science on how to launch a mid 14 sec pick up driver error is pretty much impossible

Yea this is my best guess high 14s

Though pretty much impossible it can be easy to spin alot with a supercharged 5.4 lol hell even I gotta be careful on how I launch it, but for the most part i agree with all you said

I didn't see anyone else ask...you bought the truck used...are you sure a 5.3 wasn't swapped in?

With that many miles its not insane to think the 4.8 might have been hotrodded and blown up and replaced with a 5.3 instead.

Hmmmm im not totally 100% sure that it is the original engine I kind of doubt thats what happened but you never know..... It does sound pretty damn deep for a 4.8 but thats really probably because my cut out

Im pretty sure the last guy was hot rodding it because the back tires were completely gone, and every guy with at least some bit of mechanical know how says it feels like my transmission is slipping. BTW any advise on that? If im not mistaken I have the 4L60E, I think the more bigger trucks come with the 4L80E

Not necessarily bro. My car is an absolute handfull on street tires. I wouldn't stand a chance from a dig against alot of cars. Hell from a roll at 50 it would boil em. Now with the DR's watch out.

Your right barely notice the stall at all when you drive normally. Gotta have a good trans cooler though. Mine was up at 280 with the stock one. I'm going to a 4500 stall soon.

Besides having to give more gas to get going, but everything depends on the stall. And ya a trancooler is a must, wouldn't hurt to get one now while ur on stock trans either.

4500 stall is insane lol I'm guess it won't be ur dd after that

Actually it stopped being my daily driver a year ago when I traded my Harley for a V8 Explorer. My buddy has a 5000 stall in his 10 second formula and it really isn't that bad. Slips a little but if you drive it easy its barely noticeable. Mine is a twin disc lock up so there is no difference from stock once it locks.

Being the Mach has basically the Cobra drivetrain, and the Cobra never came with an auto, there is no provision in the stock radiator for a trans cooler. Ford added a piece of **** cooler under the radiator with no air flow through it. It seems like an afterthought, thats why my trans ran so hot. I have an awesome B&M cooler now with a thermostat and a fan built right in. Never runs above 205. My trans is not stock it was built by a local shop that swears it will take 800RWHP. I will be testing it as soon as my new motor goes in this winter.

That's exactly what I'd do if it were mine......oh wait

My 4.8 with a built 4L65 and a Yank ss3600 with just bolt-ons and my own tuning did 13.8 in the 1/4. Before I did the trans/converter the best I could muster was a 14.8 or so; this is with 3.73's as well. A converter really woke it up and made it a lot more fun to drive really, and I don't mind it a bit.

Don't forget that those Eatons really hate heat too so depending on how long he had been driving and the weather it'd probably be a bit slower. Good race nonetheless, and way to show how surprising these little motors are

Your mach is like a mix between the best of the Cobra, and the best of the Mach1. One heck of a machine.

do u have an idea wat a 01 1500 rcsb 5.3 (265/305) with intake, 3.73's, dual catback, and tune with no spare, rear bumper shave, and no hitch on SS rims would do in the 1/4 mile?
