Cammed A4 Z28 Vs. Ford Lightning I was cruising down the highway, and about a quarter mile ahead of me I see this red truck that looks lowered. There is no traffic leading up to the truck and I keep cruising along, eventually getting close enough to see the "SVT" badge. As Im pulling up next to the guy I hear a nice exhaust tone, and he's got gunmetal rims and three pillar gauges. We get side by side, and look over to the driver just smiling, then he floors it. The truck takes off and I hear a symphony of 8 cylinders and supercharger whine, then he shuts down.
Now I know he's game, so I open up the cutout and line up next to him around 65 mph. I give three honks and we both take off. He pulls half a [truck] on me right off the hit, and then I get it back on the 2-3 shift. We stay dead even from there until we both shut down around 120 mph. All I was thinking was damn that's a fast truck. He pulled up next to me and we both gave a thumbs up, then I had to catch my exit. Seemed like a cool guy and I wish we could have pulled over so I could find out what was done to it.
My Mods:
228/232 cam, stock 241's, .040 cosmetics, EWP, U/D pulley, lid, ported TB, ls6 intake, full exhaust, Vigilante 4000 stall, shift kit, and some weight reduction.
Any idea how much power that truck must be making? I know my stalled auto isnt amazing from a roll, but those trucks weigh in around 4600 lbs.
