off topic but in Z06s you dont change the Rev limiter.... unless you want to blow your motor!!! RSKY did you inc your rev limiter? If yes, you may want to think about getting it back to stock! just my .000000002

Honestly i dont know if he did..i just asumed the tune would as most tunes do raise the limiter a few 100 rpm's...

WALLAN..are your numbers SAE corrected??? pretty high for such minimal mods

760 awhp > 476 RWHP

Just stating the obvious.

That GTR sounds ******* MEAN though.

Time to put a 300 shot in the viper and see what happens.

yep true in some cars, but not on Z06s

and yes they are SAE corrected.... my numbers are about right with others....... with same mods some people did hit the magic 500whp number! so no not really high! most with same mods are around 495whp! just depends on the tune and parts! im hoping for 550whp with a cam that will go in late august!!

Hell yea....550 will be awesome...

speaking of 550 rwhp..I know someone with a certain cammed Z06 who needs to teach this GTR a lesson..

I think he has the tools to do it...I hope he is up to the task..

c6z06s make great numbers even with just intake and tune between 470-480whp. 490whp is about avg id guess for intake and headers (im guessing not tuned?)

no its tuned on 91oct... highest ive seen with headers, CAI, Tune was 506 (ok I was wrong, it has stock intake and tb) ..... average is around 495whp with these mods I have. I was thinking about getting my intake/tb ported to hit that 500+whp mark, but then decided to do it all together with the cam

yea ive seen that one before... some people didnt believe it had only CAI and tune! especially with the callaway! but again, every dyno reads different and every tune is different! maybe a factory freak?

Honestly I wouldnt say it is easy on a c6z06 or gen3 viper to hit 500 rwhp. especially on a dynojet SAE corrected..

I was gonna make a list of bolt on c6Z06's but i was only able to find like 2 people that had actually done it..So I gave up..

Heres a list i made for the bolt on 2003-2006 vipers

actually it is easy.... on a c6 z06... headers, CAI, ported intake/tb and a catback just to make sure and you will hit 500whp... problem with Z06 guys is that they keep the stock catback since its pretty much good and has those flaps that makes it a really nice catback and paying $1500 for 4-5whp is not really worth it (at least for me)

yep thats the problem with Z06 parts.... Headers are $1100+ (mine was $1400, I really wanted those LGs for that some extra power ) CAIs are for $400+, catbacks $1400+ fast intake 1100+

1100 is typical LSx headers cost thats how much they were for my car. but ya there are z06 taxes on alot of stuff, just a vararam air duct on my dads 04 z06 was 90bucks by itself which is a joke lol.
but killemall got it worse like 2-3k for headers but that would be sick sounding car with lt's.
viper tax>z06 tax

like I say i thought it was easy as well..you here all these stories..So i went to the corvett forum and invested 6 hours of my time searching to create the c6z06 bolt on list. To my surprise it is not easy at all...

many many many guys with stock Z06;s hit 43x rwhp on the dyno and then hit 475-485 rwhp with intake/exhaust/headers/tune..

their were quite a few guys who hit 490's for sure ...but the magical 500 rwhp number was not found except for the one inthe thread you provided..And I did find one other...

Please prove me wrong as i would love to see a list showing that it is easy or that lots of guys have done it. until someone produces a list showing all these guys that have done it then i will not belieave it...because when I set off to make that list the Z06's came up very short in this aspect..

now add a cam into the mix and watch out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

even on the viper side ..sure you have a few guys that have actually done it bolt on only..But it is still far from easy..

im twister on that list...Sure i can add headers and throttle body and more agressive tuneing and I will be over 500 rwhp...probally 510 rwhp or so..but i still wouldnt say it is easy..

headers on my car are 2500-3500 depending on the brand..Then all the other stuff ive done..probally end up at 10K just to have over 500 rwhp..

titanium exhaust=3K
findanza fly wheel and install=1K
sct tune=500.00
arrow roller rockers and install 1.5K
KN filters=100.00
underdrive pulley =300.00
car delete=250.00

plus 3K for headers and 400.00 for throttle body

Thats right around 10K to lock in 500 rwhp PLUS on just bolt ons..

It's all in the luck of the draw also though and type dyno..

my buddy just has a sct tune and intake and exhaust with high flow cats and pulled 491 sae in his 2004 viper

i found many many many like that while doing my search..

You have to remember that people rarely talk of these forgotten comrads that have headers/intake/tune and hit 470 rwhp sae..they kinda mention the guy with those mods that hits 480..

But the guys whi hit 490 plus everyone talks about..makes it seem like everyone is doing it...

like I say...6 hours of searching threads and googling z06 dynoes is pretty exhausting. but i was expecting to find atleaste 10 people who had done the 500 rwhp mark on bolt ons no problem..

i found 2 and one of them was hearsay..

I really hope someone will step up and prove me wrong.I mean if it really is easy to hit 500 rwhp sae then anyone should be able to make a list of 10 people in an hour and show just how easy 500 rwhp from bolt ons is on a c6z06....

The only car I would really belieave "easy" on is the GTR..Thoses guys seem to hit 500 awhp from just down pipe and tune

if they are making 470whp with intake, headers, and tune they have a terrible tuner and prolly have a "dog" performance wise compared to most.
this is intake, headers, and tune 498whp
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0omvUAjjf8c
intake, headers, 160 tstat, and tune 515whp
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLLZielwc4U
hard to find more since most have a cam
