Default 06 Monte Carlo SS vs. SN95 Mustang

Was cruising around town today going to a ball game when I noticed a blue SN95 GT pull out behind me. It sounded like it had some exhaust work done to it but still relatively quiet. I could tell he was murkin me when he pulled up alongside. Caught a light, went from a low roll, like 10-15ish and I pulled about 1.5 cars up to 75, all of 1st and about 2/3 2nd gear. Guy didnt come back to play/or give a thumbs up...I think he was pissed.

06 Monte Carlo SS...power mods are

3" Hogan Catless DP
3" Custom Catback with Spintechs
HPTune
K&N CAI
Yella Terra 1.8 Rockers
Comp Springs/Pushrods
Poly Front Monuts
...some surprises but not used against the mustang.

good kill! ^^ thats exactly why I mod EVERYTHING I buy so that if I lose, I at least know that what killed me had to work for it.

You did all that work on your Monte but didnt do a pulley swap?? I'm a noob to the 3.8 supercharged thing but I would assume upping the boost would be the easiest/first mod.

I believe the 2006s had LS4s.

Ahh, I forgot. They ever get the rest of the drivetrain stout enough to match the engine on those things? I remember when they first came out, everyone complained about the huge hit that the Torque Management put on them when they shifted gears: it was said they had to in order to keep from breaking the fragile transmissions.??

I got an 07 GP GXP and was playin with a stang (GT convertible obnoxious exhaust you know the kind) on the highway the other day. Got the jump on him at about 45 and pulled bout 4 lengths on him by 95. Chalk another one up for the front drives.

Good kill! Did you get a chance to see if the tail lights were horizontal or vertical? That could help you out as far as telling if it was a 5.0 or 4.6, unless they're changed like mine are, lol.

Yes Sticks, my transmission sucks. They are barely rated just above our power figures so it's easy to break them in stock configurations. Mine hasn't blown yet but I'm still under warranty (minus a few mods ) so when the time comes it will be rebuilt. A lot of the Torque Management is removed in my tune.

71ANTICARB, good kill handling one that well. I was around town so I didn't get to run it up that fast. But it seems like the guy I raced had more of the driver mod or some other mods I didn't really notice other than the exhaust. Your car must run well for bone stock.

Snake, the tailights were horizontal like this one. So 5.0 right?
