do you mean he pulled two cars off the hut and then you stayed those two cars back till shut down..or do you mean you both stayed door to door the hole race..

Even in my stock 99 viper a 400 rwhp Fbody wasnt really a challange..2-3 cars back at shut down

 

On the non turbo one. It was a slow pull. From the hit he got 1/2 a car, slowly pulled the other 1/2. From 70 to about 130. I was More into the RPM's then MPH.

 

So was this guy in 6th gear to start?

There is no way your 400rwhp fbody is going to keep up with a turbo viper. Unless you raced from 40-46mph, there is no way he was only 3 cars ahead. Those things have 700-800hp on the low end.

 

I just stuck to his door, but honestly he wasnt the greatest driver. I'm sure he was going to pull if we had went longer.

Don't think it was a fluke because most of those vipers in this area trap 115-120ish and I fall in the middle with a best trap of 116 before my fast and a couple other mods.

 

I actually enjoyed that. It sure beats the generic "rape" comments that are made.

I must have missed that issue of Consumer Reports.

hey 1979rs what kind of tires did you have and what was you 60 foot when you traped 116.

 

Nitto 555r's on heavy 17x11 zr1's. Im going to try it again this fall when it cools down I think its got 118-120ish in it.
