I'll stick to my IRS car for the corners.

Agreed. I don't know how much racing experience you have in the corners but I did Bondurant's Driving School with a little bit of racing experience and got my *** handed to me by the instructor. He was driving a bone stock Cadillac CTS 3.6. I was in a C6 Z06.

ya not many people have a change against a pro driver pretty much no matter what the pro and you drive.
i'd be willing to be a bone stock 90s miata (pro driver) would destroy your cobalt

SRA really only becomes a serious issue on a very uneven surface. For example, you wouldn't want to override the rumble strip in an SRA car. On a track, you don't normally have to worry about hitting a dip or bump though. That's really the only time you're going to have contact issues.

Everyone who kept track of the Pike's Peak hill climb knows this SRA beast was only two seconds slower than the record breaking Porsche (and first in its respective class).
"Nearly as well" is the key phrase here... and around where I live that are plenty of twisties that have an uneven surface or mid-corner bumps. Less likely on a race track, but very common on actual streets.

It's hard to argue that it handles just as well or better because it's subjective. I can't exactly use real world examples either because most racing series cars just go right for the IRS. That's why I said nearly as well; it's probably accurate to say that anyway.

Speaking of handling vs straightline racing, I encountered a European idiot who insists that drag racing is easy and it's easy to run a car into the 9's or better. He said something along the lines of "it's only hard to do in shitty boxes..." Whatever those are.
I'd link for hilarity, but the site is down for the moment.

It really isn't hard to argue... IRS is built to handle better than SRA. There are tons of fast SRA cars, but they are still handicapped.

I suppose. The only cars I've taken around a road course have had IRS's anyway.

Here's that moronic guy. He mentions that a rocket sled can smoke any drag car. The relevance of this is beyond me...
He also says that drag racing is the entry level of all car racing. This I didn't know.

Only in a car forum can someone post a video of an LS1 car vs a 370z and end up starting a conversation about SRA setup vs. IRS

I honestly laugh at people who say drag racing requires no skill at all... those are the ignorant morons I try to avoid.

Mr Lemons, that doesn't look like a cigarette to me.

^^^Haha, lmfao! Nice On a side note: I honestly was surprised to hear about the new 5.0's setup, and even more surprised to see the results. A setup that a few years ago people would have doubted as being "a good handler" seems to have made its mark imo. I'd still take a sra over irs, and I'd still take a ten year old fbody over a brand new 370z....yeah I know, maybe I've killed off a few more of those b.cells than you have I have heard stories from road racing guys about how great an fbody can be made to handle, I personally love how mine handles, but I can't compare to anything really as most of the cars I have driven were hopped up el caminos etc lol. 370z is one awesome car though for sure.

i was speaking about my s10 not my camaro. it was just a funny story. so get your story right before you make accusations buddy. i might be 19 but ive had plenty of experience driving cars. drivin plenty of bmws, vettes, s2000s, even mini coopers. i believe i know what a slick handling car feels like. Thanks for showing YOUR immaturity.

I'm immature? You're the one who thinks its acceptable to try to push an S10 to the limit through corners on back roads. I'm not even going to get into all the reasons why that's a bad idea. I may be 19 and and immature but at least I know better than to drive like a ******* idiot on public streets, in a truck no less, and then brag about it online.

Anyone that is 19 doesn't have "Plenty of experience" driving anything. IMHO.

That is not your opinion, it is fact 99% of the time.

Do they have experience driving? Sure... But not TRULY driving. If you know what I mean.

I would say it would take longer than 3-4 years to get reaction down pat to the point were it's instantaneous.
