Hmm.. missed this. I'm not sure why but the faster bolt on and stalled stock internal cars around chicago were running 11.6 to 11.8 at 115-117.

Don't know about the girl car thing, I did have an old man (late 60's early 70's) come to the shop the other day driving an 09 370z. There aren't many around here and its the first one I worked on. The interior was very, very nice.

Sounds right. I/E/T SRT-8s trap 113-114 in great air. LS1s seem pretty close but add stall, gears and other stuff for 115-117mph..

A full bolt on ls1 runs alot better than high 12s. my BONE STOCK z28 runs 13.20s all day long. Just sayin

I would hope the car with more cubes would respond better to mods? We all know LS1 cars are quick, fast, and impressive with just bolt ons and I think you're getting confused. No one is saying the 370z (and certainly not the 350z LOL) is in the same class 1/4 mile wise.. maybe stock per stock but once you start modding it's hopeless for the 370z to try and catch up. But for an N/A v6 with some bolt-ons, a 12.8 @ 110 is impressive. Find me another n/a v6 that runs numbers in that price range.

11' v6 mustang. 305hp at 3464lbs. Ran 13.7@102 stock. I'm sure with bolt-ons it could run similiar times.

I have a feeling the '11 mustang v6 will have issues breaking into the 12's with the same bolt ons as a 370z but we'll never know until someone does it.

The '11 V6 Mustangs are ~.5s and ~5mph off of a stock 370Z... there is no way that they are going to be even with bolt-ons.

How do you know that? Maybe there are mods for mustangs that are not available to 370z's. Gears are one that comes to mind. Does nissan offer lower rear end gears?

Yes, Nissan and several after-market companies offer just about any ratio.

I wouldn't say the mustang's V6 model is very close to the Z stock.

i wonder if the v6 in the stang is being pushed as hard as the 370.

i know back in my vq days the stock tune in the car would be considered rather aggressive compared to what you find in some other vehicles. stout motor either way though.

i wonder what a tune and bolt ons would do to the v6 in the stang. even some boost to compared to modded and boosted 370zs. who knows it might be close.

The best time ran in an NA 370z so far was in an AT. The owner ran a 12.8009 @ 110.33. All he had on the car was catback, hfc, and intakes. I'm not sure whether he was tuned or not and he also had 4.08 gears. Street tires too I believe. He is now supercharged but has yet to run it again.

Anyways, I just don't see the '11 mustang v6 getting that close with similar mods. I bet that same owner could hit 12.7 if he hadn't already gotten F.I. Ok idk how we started debating the potential of a v6 mustang but its undoubtedly impressive that the Z is running those times with a few bolt ons... 10+ years ago you would get laughed at for suggesting a lttle jap 3.7L would go that quick.

well not sure how it isnt impressive that the v6 stang can run 13's and carry four people if need be. both are good v6's i just dont counting out the v6 in the stang would be a wise idea. give it some time and with mods it might run well. who knows.

I never said it wasn't impressive. I think it's cool it has the potential to run 13.7 @ whatever and still carry four people if need be. It's still impossible to really tell how quick the v6's are considering all we have are some magazine times to go by and I've already seen another number for the '11 v6: 14.0. Obviously it's going to vary based on the driver but I think we can agree the new mustang is also impressive to be running high 13's with all that weight.

With the type of ppl who buy a v6 mustang I highly doubt most will run 13s. And the ppl who buy 370zs are more car enthusiats most the time so its hard to believe an avg v6 mustang driver and avg 370z driver would be even close. Na to na or boost to boost or mod to mod

Ok it wasn't.

The only bolt-on cars I've seen trapping this had some pretty heavy weight reduction.

wow this thread is amusing! I just read all 4 pages

Paint it black- you make me laugh, and we are the same blood. Knock it off. Stop saying dumb **** about running 10's, putting nitrous on etc...if you havent ran 10's yet, or dont have nitrous on the car yet, dont even bring it up. Simple as that.

as far as 350z vs 370z. I absolutly hate the 350z's. They are turds, and look like door stops...

the 370z has been growing on me, and its sad to say but I do like them. Are they comparable to a Modded LS1? No. But they are nice cars and not too shabby for a V6. I came from a home built Turbo V6 camaro that had 400rwhp, so I know how it feels to be bashed on to have a smaller displacement motor.

On a side note, I have raced bolt on 350z's in my SS on the highway...and lets just say its not pretty and rather disturbing.

I have only played with one 370z a little on a back road hammering turns right on his *** and as soon as we hit a straight away where I could pass him, I went by him very hard...

however, this doesnt take away they are nice sports cars.
