The import guys I know are ignorant about american cars. All they know and care about is imports. They tell me they can beat a mustang gt so they think they can beat me. Most see camaro and mustang as the same, both american both V8's both just as fast. What's funny is when I ask them if they can beat a vette they say (hell no, vettes are too fast)

a long long time ago. this hispanic guy in a honda crx with this slick tires on the front ect was asking me why did i buy a big heavy 2004 grand prix there slow and ugly. i said because it looks alot better than your rusted civic and even with your slicks ill beat you.

needless to say my old stock GP NA 3.8 ate his civic alive i ran like a 10.0 i think in the 1/8th and he ran like a 10.6 or 10.7 i think it was. funny thing was. he said he couldnt get grip....and yet he was beating me out of the hole. oh and mind you he didnt even have FI. so this kid with only boltons and slicks had trouble launching his civic..... anywho. im sorry but your going to see way more punk kids in civics,eclipses ect talking down domestics cars than you will see domestic guys talking down imports. and it all got so bad after the Fast and Bi curious

 

And the things is their are some trick imports. Ill have to get some pics of the few local guys with some badass rides.

 

That's sad, cuz my stock Integra ran 9.7s pretty consistently.

where im from, 4 grand total will get you 11s out of a civic. everyone and their dog has a boosted D series, and actually knows what they are doing... DIY turbo kits galore, parts for rediculously cheap its insane. i almost picked up a 93 EG hatch for 500 bucks... with 3 motors, a 13b turbo, a FMIC off an SRT4, injectors, just a **** ton of stuff.... the car was in excellent condition for a civic too.


whats great about it is that the majority of the guys that do it arent just import dudes. everybody i know goes "WS6??? SICK dude, boost that ****"

because they know 8psi on a V8 is more than adequate

 

^^^^, i had a built delsol with a forged d16 and greddy kit on it, fun as hell, but was a little embarrassing climbing out of a dinky little chick car, 11's or not.

 

the same reason i still dont have a civic....theres just something about pulling up to a stoplight next to a grandma driving a 4 door civic that makes me not want one...

 

I loved my (stock) Integra GS-R, but I wouldn't ever want a FWD car with any serious power. RWD for me please

 

my neighbors friends had a "built" CRX.. we set em up with one of our friends that has an LS1bird and we asked em to run the bird.. he asked his rice friends and they all asked what engine it had.. i said, ls1. they laughed and said its just an ls1 those cars are heavy and slow, they are big boats lol..... poor CRX got its *** handed to him by bus lenghts

All anyone ever cares about up here is wide wheels and who scrapes their exhaust the most. I'd take cocky imports over "low is a life style" any day of the week.

You said it...the torque steer in my GTP is ridiculous...if you're not expecting it, the steering wheel will pull right out of your hands. And that's only with ~300whp (3.4 pulley)...I wouldn't even want to drive one with a 3.0 pulley and an intercooler.
