I just posted this few mins after your post, but yes the C5Z is lighter by ~100lb I have seen stock LS2 C6s beat stock C5Z (2002+) but i believe its really a drivers race since both car are close!

as I said they are close, but the C5Z gets the adv mainly for having 100-150lbs less.

so far the best bone stock run for the C5Z06 is 11.783 @ 116.90 as for the LS2 C6 12.21 @ 115.45 and the LS3 C6 11.71 @ 119.94.......

Guys, a well-driven m6 camaro like one in the video is going to do well against an auto ls2 vette. A m6 ls2 vette with a good driver would have done a bit better. But a C5z is most definitely a bit faster than any auto ls2 c6 and most m6 c6's with ls2's. That is, if the c5z gets traction in first. The gearing in the trans is is similar to having a 3.90 final gear ratio which really makes the c5 fly. I test drove both c6 and c5z before buying the z. The c5z definitely feels quicker than a m6 c6.

Good runs... Love seeing close races like that. Now was your Camaro stock or did it have the mods in your sig? Either way good runs. Weight & aerodynamics came into play. Just imagine if the 2010 Camaros weighed 3400-3500 lbs what they be able to do!

love to see an C6 LS3 auto vs your camaro. My money's on the LS3 C6 though, they are running quite stout at the track.. very interesting?? The weight difference is too great imo, not much difference between the manual and the 6spd auto, it's geared pretty good, not many dead spots..

In these runs, it was bone stock with about 3k miles!! these are old vids that I never posted before, because the owner of the vette didnt want these to be online until now!! im sure it will help a lot if these camaros loses few hundreds pounds

I believe it will be really close... just like this video!! asa I get my car, I will try to find a stock LS3 C6 and see how things are going to be!

Excellent video. It's cool to see a handfull of runs to get an idea of consistency. I'd like to see a run against a comparably equipped LS3 'Vette just for ***** and giggles. Definitely a testament to the 6.2 and even to what Chevy has done with the new Camaro. That big bitch can scoot.

Thanks man.

Not necessarily. From a roll an LS6 will walk all over an LS2. From a stop light though, is where the LS2's low-end torque shines. More of a drivers race.
