The big deal is the people I'm racing are mostly people are who aren't just "driving around". They call me out and we set races up, yet for the most part they're scared to run from a dig. On the same hand they come out and say roll racing doesn't mean you're a good driver. Those are the same people who wouldn't race from a dig!

Not everyone has a car just for racing. When I find the cts-v it is more so i have a nice car that happens to be quick and comfortable. I go to the strip 4 times a summer maybe and it is purely just for fun. Overall certain cars are suited better for certain things. I think the V is a better platform for a track day than a drag racing. Since I am not making any money on the races i am in i don't see why I should beat my car up that bad. I can also see your point too.
Launching a car doesn't "beat it up", as long as you did the necessary steps to do it... Which most people don't/won't/can't/etc etc etc.
My next car will be a pewter FRC.. It will be a weekend driver/roll racer.... Not a suspension mod on it. But I will have my full suspension stalled A4 at the house because I know a dig is all that matters.

Haha, that's what I like, someone who's willing to do either! I love roll racing just like I love running from a stop, but at the same time, a true bragging rights race needs to be from a dig with a marked finish line. As you stated, it doesn't matter if you are catching someone, only if you beat them to the end.

I had a full suspension under my 95 M6 convertible but since i drive it all summer as my DD the extra noise and decrease in ride quality wasn't worth the few times a year i would get to take advantage of the suspension. Living in South Dakota kinda sucks for that. It is fun going from a dig though.

It is hard to mess with a properly setup stalled H/C full suspension ls1 from a dig on the street. Very few cars can handle a car that cuts 1.4X short times and traps above 120mph.

Man you realy gotta stop watchin fast and furious re-runs that ***** gettin to your head..
But give me the details on the scale, Im realy curious to see the exact weight of my V.
But your right on one thing, I just dont do dig because my car just isnt setup for it yet.
I didnt exactly buy a 4dr cadillac to drag race.
I just like to have fun and drive the hell out of it, and If I get to race something its that much better .

There are more than enough correctly setup cars that are able to cut 1.4X times on the street. The guys that are die hard street/grudge racers are able a lot of the times... It is just a hard core drag racer on the street.
Prepping the street a tad doesn't hurt either.

Dig races tend to tell more about the driver and are hella fun. I always want a dig race.
However there are many fast cars out there that are built for handling/comfort/daily driving; a properly set up drag car is not always desirable or even safe.
Is it in any way fair for a 2500# car with slicks and such set up for drag to run a road race car with low-pro tires from a dig? It doesn't always mean a car is improperly set up, though with most instances you are right.

I never said drag car. I said a car setup to go from a dig. Just because a car is setup for a dig does not make it a drag car. I don't know why people have this false perception that if it is a DD it has to be a roll car. Is it easier? Does it take less skill? Does it take less money? ETC ETC ETC? Yes. It does not mean that a dig car can not be just as streetable and comfortable as a roll car though.
My car weighs almost 3500#s... Made 375Rwhp (Little over 400 with the new setup/tune)... Ran 7.3s @ 93mph 1.50-1.52 short times barely spinning and in the heat (2300DA). It should be 6.9-7.0s @ 96mph 1.4X short time now pretty solidly. My car is VERY VERY streetable.. Small cam, small converter (for the times), 373s, ported/milled 317s,KOOKs LTs ORY Magnaflow, etc etc etc.. I DD it for a year until it got keyed, after that I bought a DD and it stays put up.

its just stupid if it breaks after just one ur car is garbage and was going to break even if u drove it like a grandma soon anyways. and if they think it is going to break so easy then save up money to replace it or build it instead of wasting money on other mods so it just makes it worse. my transmission is known for breaking easier than a cts-v dif but i still launch my car....

I don't give a rats what none of ya'll say. I love a good 60-160 run with another high horsepower vehicle. And my car will "drive" to the strip and knock off a few single digit passes. Roll and Dig racing FTW!

All in all, once again nice run Ju1ce. Now to everyone else calm down on trying to sound like 12 second ANYTHING pumps any type of fear on the street. Back in the day street 12s were fast and they still have merit. But this day in age when your average business graduate non-car noob can spot 30k on a Camaro/Mustang and run the number its not so impressive. Even the older LSx cars with a grand or so in them will put that number down in non-mine shaft air DA. Honestly, outside the younger low 20-something and high school circles you need to have a mid 11 or faster potential street car to get any of the seasoned hot-rodders attention. Oh, and if your doing it by gutting than nobody cares. These days you need to run fast and still take a chick to a steak house afterward. Gutted clappers are not impressive and easy to make fast.
