08 Shelby GT vs 09 G8 GT **VIDS**

Well while I'm getting used to those "facts," you can get used to the fact that your GT500 will be no more valuable than my "slow" shelby GT. And last time I checked, there weren't too many "fast" musle cars, with most running 14's. The old Shelby GT350 was not fast at all and they are fetching around $100k now for an original. A car doesn't have to be fast to be worth money. Maybe one day you'll wake up and smell the coffee.
Cars are meant to be driven and enjoyed not as "investment." I had a 3000GT Spyder [Hardtop vert] one of 368 built in 1995 [ MSRP was 60k] I bought it used with 1863 miles on it in 2000 for 25K. It got totaled I don't regret driving it though. If your car survives and if its a 100 point car it may be worth something 40-50 years from now but it won't be worth more than a GT 500 just like the GT 350 isn't really worth anymore than a 100 point Ford SCJ 428 Mach 1. Right now you can pick Shelby GT's up in the 20's about 3-4 more thousand more than a premium Mustang GT. Slap a blower on your car and keep the original parts and kick *** on G8's

A Hemi Cuda Vert sold for 2.2 million. 1968.5 Mach 1 428 Cobra Jet have sold for over 100K Ford bad boy at the time. 100K for a GT 350 is possible if it is a 100 point car and has had huge money spent in an off frame restoration. My guide on my last Alaskan fishing trip had a Black 2008 GT 500 that he had only driven home from the dealer and then garaged for an "investment". I had to laugh a little.

And if a blower wasn't $5k-$6k I would def think about it, but IMO thats rediculous for a supercharger! If anything I'd throw a shot of nitrous on it and leave it at that. By the way, the G8 owner is a freind of mine so there weren't any hard feelings of defeat after the race. Any car with an LSx drivetrain is a worthy competition in my eyes and I think I did pretty good considering the G8 is about 40HP over my car.

I agree, especially seeing it looks and performs almost identical to a regular GT...slow LS1 here no big head...

FOG, Please stop disgracing Mustang owners, well, never mind, you're most likely one of those who say "It's not a Mustang, it's a GT500!".
As Irunelevens said, you have a fast car, we get it. Someday karma will catch up to that big bad bully who did all those terrible things to you in grade school, it'll be okay.
Nightmare: Sweet runs man! I always hope for a race that close, those are rare as hell! By the way, your car is one of the nicest, if not THE nicest S197 I've ever seen (and remember how much I like S197s! )
