Put a stuck up ***** in an SL55 AMG in his place.
First race from a dig I've had in about a year with perfect settings (for on the street..)
No traffic in front of us and only 1 long entrance ramp entering the road on the right about a quarter mile down the street. I'm sure the people behind us at the light had a show though.
So here is the story and the reason I say he was a stuck up *****. He pulls up to me, I'm thinking nice car. He doesn't even acknowledge me, head straight forward nose in the air, I figured he may launch and try to embaress the poor guy in the Trans Am or he may not so I eased into it from idle. He launches, I'm like ****! Well I was low in the rpms from taking off normal, but by the time I hit second I was pulling, midway through 2nd I started steadilly pulling by him, by the top of 2nd, and into third I was pulling away pretty hard. By about 100 I had a couple lengths on him and saw someone entering the street from the entrance ramp I spoke of. Slowly used my turn signal and got in front of him at about 110 and then got back over in the right hand lane. He slowed down and wouldn't catch up even though I slowed down to let him up. Even after I gave him a thumbs up he didn't acknowledge me.
I hope his dick didn't shrivel up from being beat by a poor guy driving a Trans Am.
I thought they were faster than that. It was a later model 08 from what I could tell. I guess the fact that they weigh 4300 pounds and have an auto transmission takes a lot of steam out of them.
By the way, my sig is way out of date. I'm making around 400 rwhp with a small cam now. Doing heads next.

Just messing around.
Nice kill, some of those big benzs have legs. I had a close run (on 23psi) with an SL600, not knowing what it was. When i googled it later i realized it was a TT V12 trapping 120 stock. That explains it.

sounds like an SL550. Sl55 is quicker than the car you're describing, especially if he got the jump.

He didn't really get the jump, just that I started at a much lower rpm than I would want so he pulled out quicker. I didn't want to fully launch and then this ******* just sits there. I didn't know what he was going to do and I didn't rev him because I usually don't instigate races.
I was surprised I pulled on him also but I did and was able to get around him to avoid the car merging on the right before we hit 100 to 110 so had a couple lengths on him.

I wouldn't say "most people are ********" but most people don't really care about what type of cars are around them. I certainly don't acknowledge every car that's next to me at a light or in traffic. Although I'm fully aware that they are there. Car enthusiasts are in the minority. Most people use a car for exactly what it was designed for. To get from point A to point B. We just like to have fun along the way.
I don't necessarily think he was stuck up just because he didn't acknowledge you. You probably think that because he was in a MB. If he was in a Honda and didn't acknowledge you would you still think he was stuck up? Some people just want to go about their business.
Now enough of the preaching. Are you sure he was racing other than the initial jump. They are pretty quick cars and that auto you're mocking eliminates almost any driver error in those things. Is it possible it was an SL550 AMG? I believe that's just a cosmetic package added to the SL550? If not and he was in fact racing,...

Like I mentioned the achnowledgement part was more to do with him trying to be sneaky and get the jump on me more than anything. I didn't know what he as going to do. He could have at least did a light rev.
It was definately an SL55 AMG and looked to be brand new 08+ model. I thought they were faster than that also but he was racing and I pulled on him. He did have his top down but I had my windows open so I dunno. The sl55 is also quite a bit heavier than my TA. How is that little car 4300 pounds. Jeez.

They are quite wide and the folding hardtop adds a lot of weight.
It's about what I expected, although the supercharged 55s are known to have IC pump failures which kills their HP.
