LS1 vs. 5.0......the old one

LS1 vs. 5.0......the old one last night, after a heated arguement on facebook (
) between like 10 people, we got out to go racing and settle some ****. me and another ls1 z28 (a4, gutted cats, Y from what i know) went at it. we ran like 5 times, i won pretty much every one of them, but should as im modded and hes basically stock. anyways, onto the 5oh.
after the races against the LS1, the 5.0 fox wants to run. from what ive heard about his car, 302 cam only with LTs, gutted with only 2 seats left in it, power steering delete, and some kind of exhaust out the rear. my mods: m6, LTs, duals, 3.73s, tires that are absolutely done. we ran on a street where i dont hook very well, but oh well, its a good spot.
1st run-50 roll, his honks i started in 2nd, got a good jump and put probably a fender on him right away, not much but i think he missed a shift somewhere along the line as i ended up 5+ in front, so he probably let off while i was still in it.
2nd run- DIG, his honks (ive been trying to practice more so i dont look like a fool at the track since ive never been) i tried dumping it about 3000 letting the clutch out somewhat fast, didnt work. i did a burnout all through 1st, got a little nasty getting into 2nd, and started to walk by him in 3rd, dont really remember if i hit 4th in this one. didnt look back either to see how far in front, but he was def in my rearview.
3rd run- 30 roll, 3 wide with the fox and the aforementioned other LS1. 3 honks from the fox and were off. i just to a very quick lead, putting a car on both while still in 1st. run out to 120ish and i was pretty far ahead of both.
he said good runs and we went home. whether he was being factious or a good loser, i dont know, but i had fun so all is well. they ran their cars so problem is over (in my mind at least).They had a cameraman, but seeing as this all was a result of alot of **** talking, i dont know if the vids will ever surface oh well, like i said, it was fun. Ill add the vid if it comes up.

150+ posts. it was rediculous. it took til 130ish after like 10 call outs for someone to come race. as long as my car can move itself, ill race it. i run a friends 11sec LT1 dig machine just cuz i like racing. no one else seemed to want to run anything other than their mouth, but in the end, i told them props for actually coming out, and all is well in my book. oh and it started over wheel choice lol

Thats funny as hell. A facebook callout haha! Good runs man, I knew the outcome as soon as I read "cam only 302." That other LS1 should have walked him too, even with minimal mods. Would be sweet if the vid surfaced.

Cam only 302? Can you say what the Eff? Talk about a useless mod on a car with terrible heads and intake to begin with...the stock cam works better than any other cam in a stock heads/intake 302...sorry that's just a small peeve of mine.

I agree with Snake about the cam. Honestly I would like to build a 302 with some good heads, decent intake, and leave the stock cam in. Would be one hell of a sleeper. I may do that one day....

Good luck finding a pair of "good" heads to work with the stock 5-liter cam.

Alot of heads out there would work just fine with it. The stock cam isn't that bad of a cam. And Crower makes a nice aftermarket cam that sounds completely stock. I was actually thinking about building my 331 into a sleeper but wanted over 400rwhp.

i call bull ****. how can u not remember if you shifted into 4th or missed a gear or whatever else you dont remember lol. either way i know the 302 dont stand a chance, even against a stock ls1.
