Actually I'm interested in a race between a 370z and an LS1 AND LS2 gto. Stock is preferred since I only have a cat-back... but I never get any action. I actually saw a new black 5.0 today...... in the morning.... slammed with traffic... then he disappeared (got stuck behind a dump truck).

Except for the millions of cavaliers occupying the United states roadways.

Definitely agree. The GTO is not a looker by any means... the g35 takes the cake on looks. Which actually reminds me of an LS1 (I believe) GTO in my area that is red with black stripes and has a massive ricer wing. If I see it again I will be sure to snap a picture I'm sure all you GTO owners would get a huge kick out of it.

Anyways, not to doubt your story because anything can happen I just don't think the guy was going all out.

I like you.

I was expecting STICKS N STONES to try to throw a rock off of my head for my comment.

When my GTO was bone stock I beat a HR350z by a solid 10+ carlengths from 40-140.

LS2 GTO runs basically the same 1/4 mile times, and traps 2-3mph faster than the HR350Z and 370Z... 10+ lengths from 40-140mph sounds fishy. I doubt you would do that to a well-driven stock 5spd Mach 1.

Doesnt sound fishy at all really since a 1/4 mile only goes to about 110 mph and the GTO has way more power to freight train the car at higher speeds. So he has 2-3 by 110 and then the power just takes over.

I take it you are in Western Washington then? I can get you a run against a stock or near stock LS1 or LS2 GTO anywhere from Tacoma up to Marysville. Where you at?

You might not know, but I do: I've taken out two 370Z's from a freeway roll with my auto GTO when it was CAI/Predator tune/catback. (maybe 10-15hp more than stock). The faster the speed, the worse the kill for them. I was surprised how much faster they were then the 350Z's I had raced, but they weren't much of a challenge. Always wanted to dig race one when I was near stock but never got the opportunity.

LOL Everyone has a right to there own opinion! I like the looks of the GTO - 'course thats mostly because they are so rare and get alot of stares from people. G35 and G37 are quite literally a dime a dozen around here. Every 30th car is one, I kid you not. At least 3 or 4 times more common than a Mustang. Weird, but gets old seeing them over and over again.

Back at ya:

Hey look, I swapped on some newer stock GM heads and a small cam and I'm now at 450+rwhp. Just like you. Next I'm gonna put a maggie on it. Wonder what it will make at your psi?

My car ran 12.54 @ 111 with nothing but drag radials... Not sure what 350z's are doing that.

Yeah... Put DR's on a stock 350z and they'll run slower. They don't spin, they don't make enough power to spin. The point was my car was lacking traction even when stock, and with traction it was a whole differen't ball game. The car still wen't 13.0 @ 110mph (almost 111) on the stock ice skates.

Since I raced the 350z from a roll traction wasn't a factor. So you're racing a car that trapped 111 with traction vs a what, 105-106 tops (more like 102 in the normal setting) 350z? Unless you're running in -2500 DA.

In a nutshell a stock 350z of any kind should get DESTROYED by a stock LS2 GTO. Nevermind a G35, that's a 14 second car.
