Default camaro w/ exhaust vs G8GT

we were driving home from a hanging out with some guys, and noticed a silver G8 up in front of us a little, i was in the passenger seat and told my buddy that anyone who buys a G8 WILL race. so he slowly pulls up beside the G8 and paces him for a few seconds at about 55-60 mph, and i see that he is in 4th and i tell him to grab third but before he shifts the G8 hits it and my friend stomps it still in 4th and the G8 walks right past us by a few cars. i then proceed to ridicule him for not putting it in 3rd like i told him. my buddy tries to instigate a rematch but the guy ignores him. i tell him just go down a few more miles and hopefully we will catch the next light. and we do. so we are both 1st in each lane, i start giving pointers, "dont bring the rpms up to high, you'll spin" "the G8 has a sweet 6speed auto so dont eff up your shifts" so the light turns green and my buddy spins just a tiny bit, almost a perfect launch and the G8 gets a nice launch too but steadily falls back, we pulled between 1/2 to 3/4 in each gear. i guess it shows how important it is to make sure your in the right gear.

so what your saying is that even without the exhaust work we probably could have walked past the G8. although when my buddy got caught in the wrong gear that G8 walked out pretty hard. but the G8 also hit it with no warning, so the table was stacked against us. the dig run was all camaro.

Those g8s pack a punch bro. I had a tough time on street tires dig racing a lightly modded one and only took it by half a car by about 115 mph. So no surprise you lost when you were in the wrong gear.

Good kill!

im saying i pulled my buddies g8 by 4 cars, so im gona get a vid of me rolling right next to a high mile z28

i dont think your exhaust work is what got you the win. you have probably around te same HP to the wheels and he has 500lb more to carry around.

Haha that's funny. I know it is true with me, unless it is a car not worth racing.

i just want to make sure everyone knows this was koons car, mine almost never makes it out of my driveway unless its on a trailer going to the dyno but anyway he wound out 4th pretty decent, so I'd say around 100 or so. he can chime in for exact speed. but it was steady falling back.

plus my fat 225 *** in the passenger seat, and he was alone so that narrows the gap. and koons retarded huge sub box jammed/wedged in the hatch, lol

Yeah the first time I took my V to the track I had a swarm of people come and check it out. A guy came up and said he'd give me the first race....G8.....As we left the line I saw that he had cutouts and was blowing fire out the pipes between shifts....i ran a 8.89 in the 1/8, he pulled a 7.65 and claimed he was stock....bahahaaaa, all I know is that I have a new respect for the G8......

was it a GT or GXP, cuz i was thinking i could take a GT in my caddy but maybe I'm wrong. i really need to cam my V, but the wife is 100% against it. so maybe a small sneaky shot for those G8's

I believe that the 05 CTS-V is slightly faster stock for stock against the G8 GT. Stock G8 GT's average 13.4-13.9 ET's with 13.3 being the best ever bone stock recorded ET. It seems the 05 CTS-V is a little bit quicker in the 1/4.

If you topped off 4th, with stock gears you were close to 120-130mph I think?
