A guy from my college wants to race me. He has a 2010 ss 6-speed that they say is "stock". Anyway we were saposed to race today for $50, but I guess he didn't drive it so he wants to race tommarow for $150 now. I think he is just one of those people that keep raisn the price to scare you from racin lol, but what if he does have some good mods? What do you guys think? If it is stock I should take it pretty easy right? Also we will be racn on an old abandon highway....

 

If he says its stock, and it turns out it isn't; don't pay the *****. If it is truly stock, you should take him; but how long are you guys running? From a dig I assume but how far you goin?

 

I would wonder if he needed time to fill a bottle!? Like said if he says it is stock and it clearly isn't then that is bull ****. If he won't open the hood when you ask before the race then you must assume "you gonna make me find out the hard way?" Just let him know you are going legit on the Nirus circuit.

 

Yes u can take him if hes stock but once again raise your hood and show him then ask him to return the favor if not call bullshit and leave.

 

this comment had me lol, i was just picturing someone walking up looking under this guys hood, seeing whatever mods then yelling "THIS IS BULL-****" and walking back to their car and driving away, lol

 

Yea I was thinking the exact same thing lol. Im going to throw on my dr's tommarow also so that should give me the launching edge. I am with u guys I will have him pop the hood to look for nitrous in there lol. And I will also look for a loud/cammed sound from the exhaust. If it looks pretty well stock I will make the deal for sure.

 

Reverse it on him! Tell him that you don't want to just take his money if he's stock and that it would make you feel bad... if he's stock then the fact that your being sincere will change his mind but if he isn't then he will continue to push... then tell him to pop the hood... lol

 

Also he is 6-speed and he only has 2000 miles on the car, so I am thinking he probably isn't the best shifter/launcher in the world yet. And it is pretty hard to launch a 6-speed on the street

 

Ohh and my guess would be we will prob run 1/4 from a stop. Maybe a little further

Ha I left it up to him. He is the one that called me out. I have actually never once raced for money before. This will be a first.

 

Op are you auto or 6spd? If it gives you some confidence I beat an auto at the track multiple time by up too .8 seconds. I have similar mods to you. If he's manual and ant drive then he real doesn't have a chance imo

 

So you think I should get him? I am auto. Did the one you raced have anything done?

 

From a dig especially with drag tires you definitely have him. The one I raced was stock doing 13.7 most the night with 3500 da. I was doing 12.9

 

id say run him, for free, win or lose its all for fun, unless he's a stuck up douche

 

I say go 4 it.easy money if he is stock.i used 2 have an a4 ws6 with similar mods, slp lid,LT headers ,exhaust and i'm pretty sure it would put a new 2010 a4 or m6 2 shame if it was stock.Now i got an m6 ws6 and I haven't found 1 that wants to have any fun!put on your DR's ,start in 1st by the time you shift up to D (3RD) race is over and your counting money!At least i hope it goes that way!

I think I should have him to. I really hope so cuz im short on money with college lol, I could really use the money. The dude is being all cocky so I kinda figured if he is stock why not take his money if it's him that wants to put the money down. Either he is stock and I win or he is modded and he lied so I shouldn't pay him if thats the case.
