Eh, it's alright but I wouldn't call it a strong point of the car (imo).

I like how the new 5.0 mustangs look and I'm not a fan of blue oval at all.. I've been hearing how these cars can run with cammed ls1, but I just don't see that happening (except for that vid of course).. I've been wanting to run one for a while, but no luck, always going in different directions of each other, or I'm in my other daily.. My cammed ls1 last dynoed 379 rwhp with the 10bolt and now that I have my d60, I've been told that the bigger rearend will rob 20 to 30 whp (not sure if thats true though).. At the track, I don't even think he will have a chance even if he got the hit. Now, I'm not trying to start controversy, nor am I talking **** either, my car is no slouch at the track, and it can definitely hold its own on the street.. I think I need to run one so I can see how well they perform and judge for myself... BTW couldnt see the vid...

You my friend are going to be surprised....
I am a LS1 man myself and always will be, but I give props where they are due. Ford got it right on the new 5.0, they kept the weight down and are making GREAT HP with just a simple exhaust, cai, and tune.
I have personally seen multiple (2) new 5.0's run in the 11's with a tune, catback, cai, tune, and tires.

I think what we're seeing here is a good example of a car company finally pulling the trigger and maximizing performance as a package. Yes, there is room for improvement, but not as much IMO as the LS1 (NOT comparing the two, I'm saying as far as reaching the motors optimal potential and the vehicle as a whole), because GM didn't/couldn't get more of the performance the motor was capable of from the factory with all the other stumbling blocks they built in - weak clutch/hydraulics, garbage axle, automatic that breaks if you look at it wrong, etc -
I drove one of the new 5.0 the other day when we were picking up a car at the dealer. I was impressed, but not as much as the hype would lead me to believe. My biggest beef is even as fast as the car is, it still doesn't kick you in the seat like my old pushrod motor that probably has 50-60hp less. In the end, I still like the "feel" of my Formula better, and definitely the seating position. Mustang still feels like riding ON the car, not in it.
They're quick though, I raced one with dealer plates a while back that probably wasn't even going 100% and he beat me by 2-3 cars 60-100.

I'm going with the MWC 9" so weight shouldn't be a problem at all. I think they are only a tad heavier than the stock 10 bolt in most cases.
Also, whats done to that GTO ? That thing moves out good.
