Default 00 Z28 vs C6

Tonight I was headed home from work and a black C6 pulls slowly past me. At first I thought an old guy would be driving it since thats basically all there is in my area. I get the idea that I will just pull beside of him and see what happens. We drive for about a 1/2 mile side by side and nothing, so I decided to let him go on. When he gets about 2 cars ahead, he revs. I immediately slap it down into drive at 70. As soon as the front end of my car comes up, he stomps his. At this time he is about a car ahead. He pulls at first and gets about 2 cars. I slowly creep on him at 125 and we are now side by side. At 140 I am out two cars ahead. He then brakes and I do to. I slowed down to 10mph below the speed limit so I can tell him good race and he won't get next to me again. We drive for about two more miles with him behind me and I go to turn off and he does a ricer fly-by on me. It appeared to be (and Im sure it was) an all stock C6. Here are my mods:

SLP Ram Air kit, Lid w/K&N, descreened MAF, smooth bellows, long-tubes, y-pipe and crap 2.73s

I find this very hard to believe. If its an LS3, absolute BS. But even an LS2 auto would make slightly more power than you, with better gears and less weight. I was trying to get an LS2 C6 to play the other night, but no dice. I should be around 350rwhp and I was worried about my chances. You make less power than I do, with terrible gearing.

I don't know about this one man...I won't bring out the bs flag though, something in me just won't pull the trigger.

You're not going to pull on a C6 top end. He either let off or this is complete BS.

Im confused about it myself. When I was right next to him his car was roaring loud enough to be heard over my exhaust (with lts and a y, its not exactly quite at wot). I wanted to talk to the guy but he refused to get next to me. When it was over I was tapping my brakes like crazy hoping he would pull up but never did. Thats why I didn't call this a kill cause it left me scratching my head in confusion. Ive seen stranger things happen on the street but its even more strange when it happened to me.

A C6 with stock exhaust is about as loud as my wife's blowdryer on low so that right there means you aren't telling the truth, as he either wasn't stock, or just plain not racing.

My guess, you lit up a huge blunt before getting in your car, you were completely and totally high, and "thought" you saw a C6 out your windows.

LOL! When I said I could hear his car doesn't mean he was drowning out my exhaust. All I can say it was loud enough for me to be able to tell that he was hard on the throttle with the windows down. Im not saying his exhaust was so loud it was busting my eardrums by no means. I just heard enough to know that he wasn't just cruising around. But I don't know if he was as hard into his as I was mine. What has me turned around on this, I don't understand why he would go around 140ish and not go ahead and blow me away if he was just messing around. I know if someone done that to me I would have to put them in their place.

FWIW, I hung with an 04 SRT10 Viper a couple weeks ago which should have blown me away, but I stayed right next to it in 2 ~45 rolls until like 100, both were on 3 honks too. I know he should have kicked my ***, but he didn't. Something was wrong with it or he is the best goddamn sandbagger ever. I fully expect to get my *** handed to me if I ran into another 04 SRT10. I figured he'd have blown me away at some point, like you said, but he didn't. I'll never know what happened though.....

Was it a stick or auto?

You guys are missing the point" some people have fast *** cars and don't have the skill to drive them 100%....hell they probably think 120mph is to fast an start backing out, are scared there going to get a ticket and I must admit my vette was just okay" to me when it was stock...ran up on a couple of fbodys that gave me a good run then

At 70 I'm guessing your car stayed in 3rd after you put it there and didn't downshift to 2nd?...if so the Vette wasn't racing or was ******* with you in an OD gear haha.

I got slightly pulled by a ******* 99 cobra because I underestimated it and didn't force the car into 2nd so I was in a dead spot at bottom of third.

With 2.73s you shouldn't have much trouble using 2nd from a 70-75 roll.

Mine is an auto and by the way his car was shifting it was an auto.
