A LE2 impala isn't gonna fair well in roll races. You gotta take advantage of the stalled auto and get him from a dig! I'd imagine you're trapping a little better than him in the 1/4.

i agree my stall converter would have played a huge part in that race from a dig it would have been alot better i'm sure. Not sure about my mph but i think i could beat him from a dig. I was hanging with him from a roll. Thanks for the info keep it coming

Bottom end refers to block/crank/rods/pistons. Top end is heads/cam/intake FYI.

Couple friends of mine used to have LT1 Imps that were identical from the trans back: built trans, 3000 TCI stall, 3.73 gears, bigass tires. One was Vortech supercharged, LT headers, custom CAI, and ran a best of 13.4 @ ?102mph?. The other was a 10 to 1 383 w/ LE2 heads, mild cam, same custom CAI and ran a best of 13.9 @ 105mph. I'd imagine yours falls somewhere into those ranges. Good run though! Judging by your setup and his V, you nearly beat him with the infamous driver mod.

There are several guy's that have and continue to do so in B bodys. That's with good setups, OP doesn't list his power or if ever been to track so who knows.

Sounds like those are two shitty builds or the track has horrible DA.

I ran into a 1st gen V this morning (in the slobalt) but i dont wana start anew thread so i hope OP doesnt mind......

what was funny was i ran into the exact guy when i was stock (GM tune now) he pulled me like 3 cars from a stop but as we got goin he noticed i didnt drop further and further... next light he told me thats a nice, fast lil 4door, he expected to pull a train length.

Fast forward to today: i see him up ahead at a light, i didnt make it to get a dig (fortunately fr me so we got in a quick roll.....from about 30 we get on it, he pulls about a car and keeps it till we let off...the lanes went down to 1 so i pull behind and get a nod/wave.....i wonder if he recognized me

Chevas885 is right i am definetly hoping to faster than 13.9 with at LE2 setup i mean you gotta think they are low 15 sec cars stock so i really only knocked off pretty much a sec from that time ? i was thinking low 13's high 12's, i gotta find the list with the B body mods and times slip. Head and cam lt1 imapalas are definetly faster than that i'm sure.

Well considering that the supercharged guy followed Car Crafts Impalla SS build down to every nut and bolt, and ran a better time then Car Craft managed, I don't think so. Cars are friggin heavy! 4200-4400lbs heavy. That puts it into the same category as a SRT8 Challenger/Charger/300C which itself generally only runs mid 13's with 426hp. 260hp is stock in the Imp SS.

Don't get me wrong, I love them Imp SS's! Must have test drove 7 or 8 of them over the years but never did pull the trigger.

SRT8's have 426 crank hp, and dyno around 360 rwhp. i know a supercharged lt1, and heads/cam 383 lt1 make more than that. they were not running very well for those builds.

Lot of money invested in a car that only runs 13s in the sub-105mph range.

Hmm. I'm confused. Are you referring to the new Charger/Challenger/300C or the 16 yr old LT1 Impalla SS?

Last I checked, with the annoying *** dealer markup the SRT8 Challenger's were going for $50-$55k and the SRT8 Chargers were $45k. Thats alot of dough for mid to low 13's in the sub-110mph range.

Go to azsupersport.com. Scroll down impala ss top E.T. page There are quite a few le2 caprice, impala setups on there. Those setups should give u a ballpark of where ur car could be at.
Also, don't be afaid to lose some weight.
