Had a helluva race today with a new GT on my way home from classes. I went out to grab something to eat with a friend, drove him back to the campus, and headed home.
The weather has been getting shitty lately… With the exception of yesterday where it was near 70 and no clouds in the sky… But other than that, its been getting cold. Its about 55 degrees out today and theres an overcast in the sky. Roads were dry though.
So, back to the story. I’m headed home and I see a newer black Mustang up ahead. I get up closer and see “GT” on the back of it. Now I’m a little excited. I switched over to the middle lane and got next to him and see shiny “5.0” on the side. I don’t think I could have planned this any better! Roads were clear and dry, no traffic, and the temp is perfect. As I pulled up next to him, I had my window down to try to hear if he had anything done to it. Couldn’t hear anything…
We match eachothers speed and slow down to 40mph. I would have rather done a first gear roll at 30mph, but this will do. I’ll live with this. I beep 3 times, and were off. 2nd gear, pretty even.. I might have pulled ¼ car on him, until it was time to shift into 3rd, where I put another half car on him. He’s at my rear quarter panel now. We ride out 3rd, about even, and shifted into 4th, where I pulled more and had another half car on him.
I think I had the driver mod on this one and he was lacking it. It seemed like everytime we shifted, I’d pull on him on the shifts… I was happy. We both pulled over and went to a gas station and started talking to eachother.
He said he had a little over 700 miles on it and bought it last month. He seemed like a pretty cool guy. He looked like he was in his early 40’s. He said he’s always wanted to buy a new mustang since he was a kid, just got over a rough divorce, and decided it was time to get it. It was fully loaded, M6, with every option he said. I liked the see-through roof. He asked what was done to my SS, and after I told him, he said it ran good for the mods, which I agreed.
We shook handsand I gave him a few of my business cards for detailing and told him to give me a call after he gets a few more mods… Or if he wants to make it shiny.

Good kill! It's cool that he wasn't cocky or had ricer excuses. I wonder how the race would have turned out had he been as good of a driver as you. From reading your kill stories, you seem to know how to row the gears.

So much for putting the car away.
I'm guessing your shoulder is good to go now. Sounds like a cool guy, finally got his dream car, and I bet it doesn't disappoint! Driver mod FTW though! ![Driving](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_driving3.gif)
Agreed, I love those AR Rebels on your car! Usually I'm not a fan of any red car except the 02 LE's, but I love those damn wheels.

I wonder what would happen if I battled one in my 99 Formy A4 with 2.73s LOL
Good kill, it looks like my 1989 Formy shouldn't have any issues running them down when she hits the streets!
