I'm no expert on street racing, but I test drove a 2010 Camaro SS when they first came out. All my dealer had was Autos at the time or at least that's all he offered to let me drive. It felt like I was driving a police car. Or a Lincoln Town Car.
If you were stepping up from a Scion TC, you would think it was INSANELY fast, but I already owned a Camaro and I was more than disappointed, I was slightly offended. It didn't just feel heavy, it FELT like it had about 200 horsepower.
I would not hesitate to race the Camaro I drove in my 06 Eclipse and feel like I had a chance. I had to open the hood and look because I didn't believe it was a V-8. Maybe some of the autos are worse than others, but if you drove the one I did, no way you'd call BS on the OP smoking one. I would drive a Mustang before I would have bought that car, and I hate Mustangs...

Good kill, Sean! Btw, you need to quit taking time out of your day to post BS kill stories - Get a life
Having driven a L99 Auto many times, I believe this outcome completely. They are stupid slow and felt slow even compared to my LT1 Trans Am which traps worse in the 1/4 than the usual L99 Auto SS's. They are surprisingly completely different vehicles with transmission tunes

LT1's aren't dogs at all. Compared to what? A Z06? of course....a stock 5.0? No.... A good running M6 LT1 is a great car. Have you owned one? They were the S*$& back in the day I remember. Still are fun, torquey cars. Nothing "dog" about them.

Good kill . Can't see how its not believable, but you know how the crowd here gets .
Ding Ding Ding!
Newsflash: Stock LS1s are slow as hell. They are quicker then a stock LT1(and being 6 years newer, they should be), but of course thats not saying much.
Sure, they may not have nearly as much potential or benefit as much from mods, but the fact of the matter is that now there are even ricers that will take a stock LS1's lunch money in the 1/4.
How? Snake is ~600 lbs lighter, making ~15 less rwhp, has better gears, and a manual that was in the correct gear @ the correct rpm (better aero if you wanna throw that in). They trap within 1-2 mph, meaning it's going to be a close race. Giving up the hit on an auto just means he has time to downshift, which means it's going to be an even race...unless snake gave up like a 3 second head start. This kill makes perfect sense. Let's remember he didn't say he walked out on it, just that he was a tad over a car out in front.

[QUOTE=WSsick;14186476]No I have not owned one, nor do I have any desire to ever own one. But my post was solely just bait to see if anybody would take it and run with it...
bait? why would you do that, whats the point? Trying to stir **** up?

I worked my *** off for my cars! If you do the same im sure you will have them. I had to get a new Z06 after i bought a new one in 2003 which is before some people on here that think they know it all got their licenses's. Just kidding...but seriously..., the regular C6 is enough especially with the nitrous it's alot of fun and i drive it alot cause it's paid off and i don't really care about it anymore lol it takes alot of abuse

lol sounds very interesting, i'll have to check that out

by the way...i believe the OP for sure...sounds right to me. Those new SS's are not what they were cracked up to be at all. I pre ordered one and when it got here and i drove it i refused to take it if that tells you anything. My brother's 2011 GT on the other hand is a heck of a runner.

not to highjack, but when those first SS's came out I outran one in my 95 GT with an old P600 procharger , stock everything else down to ford mufflers. By 2 or three cars , and my car only puts down a little over 300rwhp (btw my mustang is an auto with a small stall)

The new camaro is slow I have not ran into anything on the street or at the track worth talking about. The car is to heavy and you would have to spend 5000 to get it to run anything worth talking about. Good Kill.....
