maybe i shifted to third at around 80. i dunno, one of those two gears. I only run the car up to 5 grand, just to be safe. So, whatever gear winds the motor out to 5 grand around 80, thats what i went to.
Just like you said, my car is pretty much bone stock, and it is going to stay that way. Just like playing on the freeway or back roads, but no serious street racing.

With as many miles this car has, I don't the money to drop everything out and replace it, so i don't want to get it too high revved. Now my 68, that's a different story... Think I might create a thread about it racing one of the other 67-72 chevy's we built....
