Thats with a 10.6 in the 1000' however HRP doesn't measure the mph there so I can't share it.

Poor guy, I broke into thes 7s by a decent margin (in my opinion) with ONLY an 93 octane tune & tires.
Base GT (non-brembo) w 3.73s of course



I've got to stop posting in these 5.0 vs ls races; people are going to think I am trolling
wow 11.88@116 with a tune and tires!! better watch out for those stock F-Bodies though cuz no matter what you run, theyll pull on you apparently.....

I was not saying they are slow. I was just saying they can be beat.

I dont know what I would have ran with my mods. but I have beat a lot of car I was not supposted to beat.

I am thinking I would run high 11's to very low 12' in the 1/4 on Drand slick for sure. I pretty sure of that. So that puts me in there with your 11.88 5.0 d98gt.

Only an idiot would install those, run them hard, and not get a tune. Not that it makes a difference. Of course a pushrod engine could handle mods better without a tune than a 4 cam OHV engine. Not that it makes any sense to do that though. Other than attempting to put it in your favor.

And I've "beat" stock LS1s before in my GT. I however wouldn't call them underrated or overhyped because of it. Obviously I raced someone that didn't know his car.

The stock numbers 368rwhp/352rwtq it went:
13.2 @112 with wheel hop
12.8’s@112 on street tires and suspension mods(Panhard bar, upper and lower control arms
12.4’s@112 on slicks

After catback exhaust, x-pipe, tune, and k&n drop in filter it put down 405rwhp/375rwtq, it ran … 11.85@117 bogart slicks and skinnies

So because one person got a different result at a different track, another person getting a different result at an different track is impossible!@1

One of my friends just traded in his 3v GT for a new 5.0. We might be heading to Ohio this weekend to test it out on the track

His only mod on his 3v was 4:10s. His best time was a 13.1. I am curious as to what he will get in a stock 5.0.

Every engine is different. Every engine makes different hp with mods.

I made 323wrhp and 325wrtq stock
CAI made 345wrhp and 451rwtq
CAI and Exhaust work but no headers made 362wrhp and 356wrtq
CAI, Exhaust(no headers), Street Tune, Tranny and stall made 392wrhp and 386wrtq
all done on a dyno jet.

a friend made 382wrhp and 376wrtq
mods CAI, Headers back, Dyno tune, Stage 2 clutch. Same dyno

The only differents was a m6 and a a4(and weight but it does not change the HP, mine weighted 3600me in it and his was 3780 with him in it. Both LS2 in a 06 GTO.
I did make more power and I still give him **** over it.

and the same guy did the tune.

you got it wrong. His results are why Fanbois like you are crying foul. Just accept it. Look at his trap speeds, with traction those times are entirely possible especially with a car thats geared like the 5.0. There are always car's out there faster. Just because it a Ford now, don't get your panties in a wad.LOL

I had to take mine off and get a new pair.....LOL

I'd be game for that one! i'm at full weight,full exhaust,stall and tune! oh and a cam, not sure if the new 5.0 has an aftermarket cam selection? they probably don't even need it!

I thought Evo Perf was demigod with the 5.0's performance? I'm just surprised and interested in the details regarding this 5.0 that went faster. Evo Perf went 11.80's but also toasted the stock clutch and broke the stock driveshaft so there is always more to the story.

My point is that the average joe is not going to run low 12's on street tires then dip into 11's after tune and slicks. In other words, the times may possible but not the norm.

(credit to burnemls1 for "5.0 landed on the moon." Tune/et streets only mods!!!)



As I said above, the times might be possible and I would give the driver props but it's not the norm. If it was, everyone with a C6Z06 would be running 10's w/drags only.

You're sounding like a broken record. Who here said it's the norm???? Average 5.0 times are about 5mph/5 tenths faster and 70rwhp more. Get over it.Evo is not the end all either, a bunch have gone faster than them.
