People have gone faster than 11.80 @ 117 mph with just tune and tires??? **** I might have to install a big block with a 102 mm turbo just to hang with these bolt on Stangs.

Wonders when the next version of the Camaro is going to show up. Wonders how long GM will let Ford beat them in the pony car games.

Remembers various Mustang boards at the time the LS1 Fbody came out. It read a lot like these threads are reading. :-D

IT'S OVERHYPED!11 I CAN TAKE ONE!!11

To be fair...it is a little over hyped...especially by people who dont own them.

I've heard some stories about Evo. I don't know if they are true or not but the only thing I would buy from them is a tune from Jon Lund.

It looked to me that they were quick to do suspension mods and other stuff to sell those pieces than they were to try to get the best time possible out of the car when it was stock since so many people have ran much quicker bone stock than they did.

Thats with a 10.6 in the 1000' however HRP doesn't measure the mph there so I can't share it.

I've got to stop posting in these 5.0 vs ls races; people are going to think I am trolling
Thank you for actually being able to drive your car to it's potential.

It's just the truth. Not everybody can drive, and his numbers prove it. It's just that simple.

NICE RUNS!

Camaro vs Mustang....

It is great to see the rivalry.

I've owned them all, Z28s, TAs, WS6s, Vettes, Z06s LT1s, LS1s, LS2s, LS3s, LS7 and on the Ford side I've owned 5.0s, 4.6s, 2vs, 4vs, 03 Cobras, Mach 1s, and now a new 5.0 automatic.

The new 5.0 stock varies....

Some magazines are as slow as low-mid 13s at 106-109 wih heave convertibles.
Average actual times seems to be 12.8-13.0@110.
Some actual people are as fast as 12.3@114 bone stock in GREAT -DA air.

I think the automatics are a bit faster at the track, especially after a tune.

I will say this, I just added a Airaid cai and a Bama tune and it is amazing, worlds different.
The automatic tranny tuning really wakes this up.
Guys are picking up on average about 0.3-0.5 at the track with a tune and cai. I usually can't feel 10-20hp gains, but this is a very noticeable gain, I am thinking 30-45hp and more from the tranny tuning.
In the NE in good air tune and cai automatic cars are running 12.2-12.3@114-115, definitely beatable by a good running LS1, but a fun fast car none the less.

If you are in the Bucks area and see a Race Red 5.0 with great sounding Flowmaster Hushpowers (no power there), throw me a wave or a rev

Hope this info helps.

Why did you change your sig stopsign? You went from your 331 stroker MUSTANG to this glorified honda? What a shift! Dont worry about us GM owners.

Not butt hurt and not slow. Just good to have some competition and have a great rivalry. Plus you Ford guys are easy to rile up.

It's an Acura not a Honda. And the Mustang made it too easy to beat the F-bodies so I went to something slower to give them a chance.

Car is a 6 speed standard with 3.73s. This is a perfect gear with this transmission because it has me hitting limiter right after the finish. I don't know how the hell the guys with 4.56s and such are rowing through the gears so fast haha.

I dont know what I would have ran with my mods. but I have beat a lot of car I was not supposted to beat.
I am thinking I would run high 11's to very low 12' in the 1/4 on Drand slick for sure. I pretty sure of that. So that puts me in there with your 11.88 5.0 d98gt.
With the great air in the winter months; it's a good time to get out to a track and post up good numbers. I don't expect my car to run near as fast come Texas Summer obviously. Negative DA will help a ton.

Your "tune only/et streets" is running dead nuts with Evolution's Unicorn?
You: 11.88 @ 116 at HRP 11/05 tune/et streets only mods
Evo Perf: 11.85@117 Panhard bar, upper and lower control arms, catback exhaust, x-pipe, tune, and k&n drop in filter, bogart skinies and et streets
Evolution Performance posted the results:
The stock numbers 368rwhp/352rwtq it went:
13.2 @112 with wheel hop
12.8’s@112 on street tires and suspension mods(Panhard bar, upper and lower control arms
12.4’s@112 on slicks
After catback exhaust, x-pipe, tune, and k&n drop in filter it put down 405rwhp/375rwtq, it ran … 11.85@117 bogart slicks and skinnies
http://www.svtperformance.com/forums...yno-video.html
So I am the reason that there is hype on these cars? Awesome
There were members from this site that were out there and WITNESSED my runs, plus I have the 12.0 run on video.
I have no problem admitting that I ran in a negative DA at HRP which is a great track, but I still have the printouts showing that the car has ran 11s on more than 1 pass (happened on different dates). Video posted below

My point is that the average joe is not going to run low 12's on street tires then dip into 11's after tune and slicks. In other words, the times may possible but not the norm.

So if he changes his sig and says he landed on the moon would you believe him?
(credit to burnemls1 for "5.0 landed on the moon." Tune/et streets only mods!!!)

As I said above, the times might be possible and I would give the driver props but it's not the norm. If it was, everyone with a C6Z06 would be running 10's w/drags only.
Lmao if only the moon pic had a kona blue GT. I give props on that picture as it actually made me laugh.

As previously stated I went 11s in a negative DA. There were people there that witnessed these passes and also checked the car out. The passes were with 17" et streets and still stock 18s up front
http://www.stangnet.com/mustang-foru...97-post18.html shows pictures of the car (including dusty *** engine bay) running 11.9

I appreciate it man

As far as the people that question the car even though I can post up videos/show pictures/had witnesses from this very site out there; I have an event on the 8th (forumwars) so after that I will be out at Baytown the following Friday to go for 11s again. Hopefully there will be good weather but even then I should be deep 12s. I did just install an axleback this week however they aren't worth power on these cars. Will still be on ford paper filter and so on
