Damn! close race!
Just remember tho, you can drive in the rain, have more passengers, talk to the passengers, use the phone, eat, crank up the heat or air conditioning, get into minor accidents and not die, and don't have to worry about totaling your car if you bump it while it's parked

Close race! I bet if you guys went from a 40-140 or something higher speeds the car would come around that bike. This being said because I own a cbr600 and a 408!

my best friend use to own an older nova (forget the year now) with a well built 396 in it. it was a blast one night when we beat this kid we knew and he was riding his katana 600

He actually held his ground on me all the way to about 150 when we passed the camera. started at 60 in 3rd. He has exhaust I think thats it. I thought he would be better up top because he has less wind resistance.

My 408 gto pulls alot harder up top than my 09cbr 600 does. I'll have a race video similar to this in spring. I've raced the same car in both my car and the bike and the car comes on way harder above 130

You did great! A well ridden modern supersport 600 is no joke. People confuse much slower 90s 600s or sport tourers like Katanas and SV's as having performance anywhere near that of a modern superspor...and then end up assuming that since they waxed a 70hp sport tourer that a lighter and better geared 120hp 600 would be the same outcome...Hey, they're both 600s right??? .
Bad move for the rider on trying to take a 600 in a race past 130. 600s don't have the hp of a literbike to overcome all that high speed drag. My camaro, even though it was running a lot slower @ mid-high 11's, would eat my bike alive from a long high speed pull.

Ya I raced an 09 R6 not to long ago. We went from a 55 or so roll and I was able to stay in front of him the whole time til 100+ I gradually started to pull on him.
The 600's like already said, just don't run that well in the higher speeds. Hell my FZ1 feels sluggish at 140 and it's a liter bike.

I figured that the 600 would do great up top because it is a jap motor that is built for nothing but top end. Well I guess not. I also kind of figured because of the small frontal surface area it would be more aerodynamic than my Poncho. Guess I am wrong again.

Bike aerodynamics suck...but don't run one from a dig or slow roll without some serious power.

Nice video! Your big advantage was that you started at 60 which eliminates first gear for him. Had you dropped to 40ish with him in first gear and you in second (I'm assuming depending on your gearing), he would have likely pulled away from you down low and then up top it would even out with you starting to come back around 130ish.
What kind of power did your car put down? Any track numbers?
Here's me (bike in sig) vs SRZ (02 Z28 M6 with H/C/100 shot and 4.10s putting down around 520rwhp). First race is from 40 with me in first and him in second, then second race is from 60 with me in second and him in third (best gear selections for each of us from those mph). You can see the difference first gear makes.

Seriously, at least a -1 front - best $20 you'll ever spend for a go-fast part regardless of vehicle .

Also, I want that bone stock 10-second timeslip. Only been to the track once so far with it and had only been riding altogether for four months so I'm hoping to drop a couple tenths off the 11.1 I mustered my first time out now that I've had more seat time. Gotta wait for warmer weather, though. The DA also wasn't helping out that day so just better weather alone might do wonders for me.
